Sometimes we don't realize how truly blessed we are. We've been killing ourselves for years and it hasn't left a scar. We still wakeup every morning with another chance to live. Yet will still refuse to acknowledge the blessings that only God can give. How many blessings are left? How many chances still remain? As long as we do wrong the results are still the same. We always make life more difficult than it really has to be. We continue to walk around blind when we know that we can see. At some point during our life it seems we've lost our way. We've been living during the night for so long we forgot there was a day. One day we may realize that enough just is enough. And at the same time we may realize that we really ain't that tough. All the people who tell us they love us have go to be tired as hell. They have to be tired of hoping that one day we'll get well. We are not stupid people. God gave us all a brain. Even though some of the things we did made it seem like we're insane. One day we may wake up and surrender our life to God. Then maybe we will realize that his way isn't that hard. R.Mendoza

love; something everyone wants
but no one knows what it looks like.

#life; something everyone has
but no one knows how to use it.

#sad
  #depression
    #pain
#death; for when poets get ‘the feels’

      #heartbreak #you #him #her #heart
Poets who fall in love fast with the
       Same reckless abandon that made
You climb all the way to the top.
Those scars used to make you cry
       Now they make you write.

It's coming through a hole in the air,
from those nights in Tiananmen Square.
It's coming from the feel
that it ain't exactly real,
or it's real, but it ain't exactly there.
From the wars against disorder,
from the sirens night and day,
from the fires of the homeless,
from the ashes of the gay:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
It's coming through a crack in the wall,
on a visionary flood of alcohol;
from the staggering account
of the Sermon on the Mount
which I don't pretend to understand at all.
It's coming from the silence
on the dock of the bay,
from the brave, the bold, the battered
heart of Chevrolet:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
It's coming from the sorrow on the street
the holy places where the races meet;
from the homicidal *******'
that goes down in every kitchen
to determine who will serve and who will eat.
From the wells of disappointment
where the women kneel to pray
for the grace of G-d in the desert here
and the desert far away:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
Sail on, sail on
o mighty Ship of State!
To the Shores of Need
past the Reefs of Greed
through the Squalls of Hate
Sail on, sail on
It's coming to America first,
the cradle of the best and the worst.
It's here they got the range
and the machinery for change
and it's here they got the spiritual thirst.
It's here the family's broken
and it's here the lonely say
that the heart has got to open
in a fundamental way:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
It's coming from the women and the men.
O baby, we'll be making love again.
We'll be going down so deep
that the river's going to weep,
and the mountain's going to shout Amen!
It's coming to the tidal flood
beneath the lunar sway,
imperial, mysterious
in amorous array:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
Sail on, sail on
o mighty Ship of State!
To the Shores of Need
past the Reefs of Greed
through the Squalls of Hate
Sail on, sail on
I'm sentimental if you know what I mean:
I love the country but I can't stand the scene.
And I'm neither left or right
I'm just staying home tonight,
getting lost in that hopeless little screen.
But I'm stubborn as those garbage bags
that Time cannot decay,
I'm junk but I'm still holding up
this little wild bouquet:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Although I met you long ago it seems like we just met. I remember it like it was yesterday. It's a day I'll never forget. But now your here back in my life and it seems just like a dream. But the one thing I always remembered about you were your eyes. They still have that gleam. So now it seems like time stood still so we could meet again. And now this feels just like the beginning of a love that will not end. So I often wonder about this feeling of love that I feel for you. And I often crave for that beautiful feeling of your love that feels so true. But there are days when reality hits and I realize that your not mine. And that maybe the love you had for me has suddenly run out of time. Because some days its not enough time it seems. For us to laugh  and joke and share our dreams. And there's not enough time for us to be. Just a man and a woman. Just you. Just me. And there's not enough time for us to kiss. Or for me to tell you things like this. So if I could. I'd find a way to stop all the clocks on earth today. And then maybe even that won't do. Because I need an eternity for loving you. But if I could love you just for today I think may be then I would be ok. And then when you kiss me I'll know it's right. Because our rekindled love will last all night. R. Mendoza

If I had to give my son advice,
To, on his little life, shed light:
I'd say don't do drugs, and if you do.
Do Class C in the mornings,
And Class A's at night.
If you're gonna do it, do it right.

If I had to give my son advice,
To save his little heart from pain:
I'd say never love at a distance;
Your heart will succumb to a lonely bind.
For words, are far too nervous,
and probably won't get there on time.

If I had to give my son advice,
So his smile remains a genuine jewel,
I'd say be sure to marry a writer.
Smile as much as you possibly can,
And if they feel it worth defending
They will rewrite, and edit out your problems,
And give you a happy ending.
