I can't believe I bought them.
Is this the top scoop?
I've entered a raffle for
pea & ham soup.
I can't even eat it,
I'm vegetarian you see.
Won't you just change it to
tomato for me?

I don't mind the peas,
It's the ham that's no good.
They slaughter those piggies
screaming, covered in blood.
Eyes bulging, their throats cut.
It's really not nice.
There's so much more to choose from,
not just cakes made of rice.

Have you seen how they nugget,
crispy goujons and breast?
They've found faeces and gristle
in a food safety test.
So don't think that these people
have your interests at best.
Look it up, do your research
and I'll give it a rest!

Society just takes a wall
Puts it in front of the oppressed
Puts up an ad to make us drool
the other sides a moral test

When we peak we are disgusted
But we make no change
Yet, the myths been busted
There's no humane free range

Slits and cracks shine light through sheds
Onto cages of thick blood floor
Upon looking there's chicken heads
But someone's locked the door

Living in silence of the death
Is something done so easily
A chicken takes it's last breath
Look away cos you get queasy

There's no right way to say this
Cos people just don't listen
Start to take the ******* ****
When I start talking bout their chicken

I want to tell them facts and numbers
But they just shut off my voice
Sitting in their fixed mind bunkers
Treating the truth as white noise

I wish it would all just disappear
The senseless murders of these beings
Especially when it' so plain to hear
the scream these aisles are bringing

People eat it no matter the cost
If it's life or 50p more
They don't think bout what was lost
They see meat and eat it as if by law
Gonna be doing more poems like this so follow me if you want to see more

I am sorry for what we have done to you
I mourn the loss of your short lives, nullified for our barbaric arrogance and gluttony
Your children taken to meet the same fate as you
Your bodies eviscerated, never knowing the hand of compassion or a ray of sunshine

There are no merciful abattoirs

No red barn with it's open doors, and no motherly blue sky

There is only brutal indifference

Mechanized slaughter

The lies we tell our children and ourselves will breed this hell on earth into our legacy
And we who see ourselves distinct from beasts prove with our actions otherwise

This is not food

This is war on the sanctity of being
This is not a fanatical demand for universal vegetarianism. It is just a poem decrying the modern industrial practices of factory farming and the way the animals suffer in this system.
the cold smile of a
fragmented mouth &
a field of cotton
defying the god's ordinance.

Desperate visions of
flushed faces and
dreams of Hiroshima
breathing its own breath.
One crow after another,
dancing down the
old spiral stairs of poverty.
Roasted along with
regular cheese
and
with an ounce of crippled green peas!

A vegan in disguise
trembling like a cooking egg!

She’s so cute I wanna eat her face,
like I’m high on bath salts,
she’s vegan,
but takes my tongue like a cannibal,

eat your hearts out Haters,
cut my ear off and send it to her like Van Gogh,
ear off a part of the big picture,
or rather painting we’re painting she gets the first stroke,
we’re wild like animals untamable all in all the time,
into the deep end head first Geronimo cannonball,
Black Swan dive she’s gone alive,
the Pied Piper the Eyed Viper the venom & the antidote,

and I quote a quote I wrote myself,
“She’s the answer to my prayers”, the reason and the hope,

she’s the answer to my prayers,
and I don’t even pray,
okay actually on the low I do pray,
and I’ve seen a lot of amazing things but I’m still amazed,

I’m amazed,
and tomorrow isn’t promised today,
and tomorrow never comes,
but she comes and when she does she comes in waves,

I’m in a daze,
honey glazed and lovely crazed,
my bed’s a mess haven’t made it in days,
bed’s a mess but when we’re together we’ve got it made,

so perfectly misbehaved it’s insane,

lost myself then found my self all up in her maze,
and usually I’m not religious,
but she’s so delicious I must say,
thank you Lord or God Amen to her I give all thanks & praise,

and she’s so cute I wanna eat her face,
like I’m high on bath salts,
she’s vegan,
but takes my tongue like a cannibal…

As I sit down in the garden, rivers of tears drown my face
but the sun's rays beam down onto my back radiating warmth at a fast pace.
And I place my bare feet onto the breezy grass where, for once, I feel grounded and at peace,
and instead of suffocating, I can breathe again - a newfound release.
