the speed of a falling raindrop
is 32 feet per second
it's something constant
i have read about
at the science section
of a worn down daily.

given different conditions
and cloud forms from nimbus
to cumulonimbus
or if there even exist heavier,
darker, sulkier clouds,
then it will remain the same.

raindrops will drop at that speed
like the way cherry blossoms
fall at 5 centimeters per second
as identified by Shinkai
accompanied by that sad story,
sad love song and sad vibrant colors.

i have always expressed
adoration at constants
starting at elementary algebra
when miss hernandez introduced
the concept of non changing
ever the same values
unaffected things
like pi or the gravitional pull
or even the speed of light itself.

i always get to thinking
if constant hearts ever exist
or if it does, for how long?
ever changing had been
a major human quality
so is inconsistence
a constant in the human heart?

the anatomy of a constant heart
is a favorite mind palace of mine
i wander at the highest floor
taking my time to build up what would be
the ideal constancy and perfection to me
a woman of digits, numbers and measures

a paradox of consistent inconsistencies
wrapped around every pumping chamber
smooth muscles embracing the equation
like dialogues of yes's and no's
between tissues and muscles and blood
a focus group discussion of conflicting parallels
my poems are also at wattpad, in the poetry collection titled wild heart.

Too many miles lay between
me and my favorite people
Too many numbers
that cause emotional
early morning conversations
But in the end we know
that these numbers are only numbers
And one day these numbers will go down
and we will be together
Because numbers can't destroy
a connection so strong
I want to meet my online friends so bad.

so say voices who do well know
they're multiplying by the score
an exact total out of show
it's possible there's millions more*

they're multiplying by the score
every day numbers keep rising
it's possible there's millions more
these huge counts ever surprising

every day numbers keep rising
alias names being concealed
these huge counts ever surprising
genuine stats rarely revealed

alias names being concealed
under our radar they all slip
genuine stats rarely revealed
each one an unstated ship

under our radar they all slip
incognito account holders
each one an unstated ship
we're never privy to their folders

incognito account holders
an exact total out of show
we're never privy to their folders
*so say voices who do well know

I CALCULATIONS

A bird from the window
Pecked at my papers
Lined with my scores.

Now trees are dead,
And papers are gone.
This is the computer age.

I will break it down for you.
I even made a list,
Would you like to count?

II THE LIST

1.This is the computer age
    Of digitized proofs
       And

2.Authority attested identies,
     With participants' certificates.

3.Our own words have lost meaning

4.We are now vessels
With our definition stapled on screens
      And

5.Meagre salaries
    Tagged on our foreheads.

6.We are our grades.

7.The given guidelines,
      Projects we finished overnight.
We are the cheated test scores,

8.The printed marksheets
       From the renowned buildings.

9.We are a bunch of degrees.

10.We are a box of experience
With a reciept of coffees we bought,
We are a cv of what we did.

11.We are the said lies
        And

12.The stress calmed by mummbled slurs.

13.We are the second employee
        Shouted at.
          And

14.We are the hundredth consumer
       With company approved needs.

15.We are the salesperson with quotas to meet.

16.We are the owners
       Of a dying business,
         A pending debt.

17.We are the numerous people
Of covered faces on the streets

18.And exposed bodies in the world wide web.

19.We are the constructed
         Digital photographs
            With deconstructed heads.

20.We are a bunch of numbers

21.We are a bunch of numbers

22.We are a bunch of numbers,

23.When did we become

24. A 0 or a 1?

People shouldn't even fit in a whole encyclopedia

And yet here,
Are you looking for a number 25?

III RESULT

Well I gave the papers to the bird,
She put it in her nest
And made it warmer.

You call me crazy
But I will always
Call myself a free bird.
Sometime in winter I must have burned newspapers.

A color I could never see I found inside of you
the deepest parts of us reflected every shade of blue
Depending on the moment I would speak in melodies
that I could never carry were you not right here with me
And even though our days have led us miles far apart
I find you in the chorus of the beat within my heart
The chords I scribed in blood because I've nothing left to give
"I want to break the silence," said her Spirit to my skin
triangles, numerals.

The numbers.
They shine a small light on a dimming day.
Make my face break out in a smile.

The numbers.
Those **** numbers are the shining moonlight.
Those **** numbers are the suffering sunlight.
Those **** numbers can dim my day to darkness.

Those numbers.

T h o s e    n u m b e r s .
I don't even know anymore.
