Do we need
material-prosperity
to be joyful and happy?
Yes we do.

Do we need
material-objects
like plastic-bottles and aluminium-cans
to be prosperous
joyful and happy?
Yes we do.

Is there a finite-supply
on the Earth
of many materials we use to enjoy prosperity
like plastic and aluminium?
Yes, many materials are finite.

Therefore,
do we have to recycle
finite-materials
like plastic-bottles and aluminium-cans
to maintain sufficient supply
to achieve joyful and happy prosperity
into the future?
Though magpies they are,
love birds they be.
And oh so, drawn to shiny trinkets.
Content was he,
yet his offerings of humble stolen objects,
that could stop her gawking could not
stop her gawping,
for ill affordable gold.

Though magpies they are,
love birds not quite.
happiness was of material dependance
in particular her new flame;
an open window and a pendant.
She fled for warm jewels
but found only cold steel.
A pursuit for prettier rings
befalls a neck that is wrung,
by bigger predators
with human hands,
and by greedy choices
that shun the real gold in others.

Of all the ways I know,
writing's the fastest,
in head, out mouth,
out hand, out there.
Materials
And time

Money
And waste

Costly dates
On silver plates

Diamond rings
And dozens of roses

Store bought cards
With boxes of chocolates

So materialistic
So many pretty things

Me, myself
And I

Shal have none
And yet

I'm alive
And happy?
No thank you she said with love

I don’t care much for social status
Nor for material things.

I’d rather find it in people,
Ones who might actually care
About me and important issues
Because stuff doesn’t last so long
But people can.

Stuff is mostly irrelevant
But our culture seems to say otherwise
They want me to buy, buy, buy
I’d much rather not
Alright?

I watch those ads on the TV
Most of them appear to be lies
Yet we sit around and eat them up
So easily manipulated, not thinking quite for themselves
How sad.

I’m not one to take part in a pressured race
I’d rather sit and think on my own
But everyone is tellin’ me otherwise
To do this or that or earn this or that
But I don’t mind much, I wish them well.

I don’t care much for social status
Nor for material things.
I just alter **** from Animal Collective songs. My bad.

The more we have,
the more we want.
