“Space
The Final Frontier”
Planets, stars, the moon, the sun

Now I won’t write some cliche about how the sun dies every night to let the moon live
Or how the moon only shines because it reflects the sun's light
Or just about how awesome the sun is
and how it keeps us alive

But I will write about how beautiful a full moon is on a cold dark night
So big, you could almost touch it
Except
It is still so far away

Sometimes I see the moon
And burst into tears because
I cannot feel the moon
Only the cold chill of night

The moon is an art piece
You could call him god's masterpiece
Untouchable,
Indescribably beautiful

The moon and its power over the ocean
Controlling its tides
Sometimes strong
Sometimes weak
Always present
Its as if the moon and ocean
Have a commitment
That is really forever

The moon- a chunk of the earth
That just strayed
A little too far from home

The moon and his many phases
Yet he is still one in the same

The moon- a contradiction
Hiding away
Before showing his true face

But let me tell you a secret
This isn't about the moon
This is about my heart,
Being four thousand eight hundred and five miles from its home
A whole different country
So far out of reach
A moon, For only my eyes to see

This emotion of love
my emotion that loves
you
in a form more pure
than the drops of rain
or the clouds they come from

Will these I wonder
live as they do
in thin air
or mid space
meaningful yet still
not physical

Or will they I wonder
die inside the cages of my chest
in the core of my heart
never getting a touch
of their destiny

The destiny that is placed
*in your heart

I saw her hand him a flower
as he gave her a bouquet
Maybe you too saw him give her
her favorite box of chocolate

Did our memories rain on you too
about the time when
I stole a flower from your own garden
to give to you

Or the time
when I got you a dozen chocolate boxes
more because of the cute tin box
than the chocolate itself

Did any of that hit you today
Because my mind is flooded with thoughts of you
wrote this on 25th January cuz I already saw this coming
I knew it was about time you did this to us again

He sat on the edge of his bed, the room surrounded by darkness.
The air was cold and harsh, wind blowing through an open window.
Sound crackled from the panel, as lights flashed across the board.
He stood up in a rush, tumbling off his bed.
Blue streams of light swirled in a cylindrical fashion.
The man rose up, staring into the whirling and shapeless light.
A woman's face appeared within the light.
Then her arms.
Chest.
Legs.
She was there.
Tears welled up in his eyes, streaming gently down his cheeks.
The woman began to smile, and cried along with him.
She reached out her hand, in an attempt to brush away his tears.
Her fingers made of light faded across his tear ridden face.
The pixels made no contact with his skin.
They both stood there, smiling, staring into each others eyes.
Seconds turned into minutes, which turned into hours.
As they sat together laughing at a inconsequential event, they both knew it was time.
His hand hovered near her projection, her hand hovered near his.
They closed their eyes and imagined a world in which distance did not matter.
With a hiss the machine came to a halt.
The room was silent.
Darkness once more filled the void.
The man got up and walked towards his bed.
He sat on the edge, and began to wait.

And He said
I am a mathematician Hannah,
I find beauty in chaos,
And you girl,
You are beautiful
Unconventionally beautiful

A mathematician who could
comprehend her
Quirky sense of humor
And knew that she was
really just a loser
Yet
Loved her anyways

They were
Blessed by love,
a love so powerful
It could break down any wall
but
Cursed by basic geography

She told him of her fears,
And he told her not to worry,
He’d always be by her side

And he said
I love your broken Spanish
I love your heartfelt poetry
I love your ocean eyes

She asked
Does this love make you shiver?

He brought her
smile back
put up with her
inner maniac

Her hair
Like sunshine
And his was
The dark of night

He was smart,
Good at everything she wasn’t
But somehow,
They found peace in each other.

He could find the solution
to any problem,

She could write pages upon pages
of beautiful poetry

His intellect was beyond compare,
Until it came to her.

But when
She looked at him,
her ocean blue eye
Were met with the
depth of the earth in his

He filled every crack
in her faulty brain

God put our souls together
&
Our bodies apart
you don't believe in soulmates but what is that something that brings us together
Reuben Dec 2017
How long will it take, for you to reach?
To see your face that makes me smile,
Have the kiss, I longing for so much,
Would be my love is enough to cover the mile,
Even though you’re not, here in my side,
Let the God be our light and guide,
When you are here, I can find the happiness,
But when you’re gone, I felt the lost in my loneliness,
Having the trust and faith to be one again,
Keeping your smile in my mind is the only thing, I may do,
For your laughter are drops of rain,
Giving me comfort and unwavering hope that will not due,
I will cross the rivers, oceans and seas,
Using a pair of wings made of my finest love for you to see,
May the wind help, to lift us as we hold together,
Carry to the place, reserve for the two of us forever,
Though the time force you to depart,
I believe that one day, you and I will never be apart.
