Give thanks to those that are appreciative to have you as a dearest and vice versa. Many people in this world are without those that love them. While many of you are in mourning, look up into the heavens and see how beatific your deceased loved ones are. They send you their love and wish you many blessings. When you cry, the family of angels are there by your side, surrounding you with their healing presence. Your heart is the fountain of youth; pour into those that need replenishment. I promise you that love will always and forever be the root that gives life to the tree.
Ripples of fervent gratitude
Flow out from my thankful mind
I feel the ripples cycle back
They are never far behind

Ripples from my loving actions
Though tiny - can help you smile
And when you smile, you pass it on
The ripples flow for a while

Ripples from my forgiving choice
When feelings get hurt a tad
Help both of us to let it go
And make our hearts feel glad

Ripples from our prosperity
Build increased life for all
Our sharing makes a difference
Whether it’s big or small

You are important. You are here for a reason. Your actions influence more people than you might imagine. Energy follows thought - so even the simplest blessing visualized for another will help them out.

In this "Ripples" poem I've described some specific ways these ripples might flow, from specific actions. You and I can do better in our actions and our thoughts when we understand the ripple principle.

Start a ripple today.

I am grateful
for the time spent with the family
I am grateful
for the time spent alone
I am grateful
for the time spent with patients
I am grateful
for the time spent with doctors
I am grateful
for the time spent with students
I am grateful
for the time spent with teachers
I am grateful
for the time spent teaching
I am grateful
for the time spent learning
I am grateful
for the time spent
I am grateful
for the time gained.

When the work
is done,
I retire to the garage
to smoke my cannabis,
watch a sitcom rerun
and unwind
as I always do.

I walk to
the front of the house
to check
my daughter's car
to see
if it is locked,
as I always do.

I walk around
the black
2012 Honda Civic
and check the doors
and the windows
as I always do.

Noting this ritual,
as I have done over
100 quarantine days
in a row, I numbly think:

"There is
absolutely nothing special
about this day."

At that moment,
I became conscious
of the purple in the dusk,
the melody in the breeze,
the hopeful laughter of
the children playing
up the street,
the scent of her hair
lingering from an
earlier embrace
and the warmth knowing
all was safe,
calm and bright
for the moment,

and the truth
whispered in my ear:

"Every single thing
about this day
is special."

My personified shadow,
I call her Renée.
She experienced the malevolency
bestowed upon me
and released through writing poetry.
My nightly tears on the page,
bled crimson,
in unison, she and me.

She, my personal protector;
taught me the freedom,
within expression,
feeling fearless among oppression,
my pages now read dry.
With anxiety and pain held at bay,
I am to be thankful,
to the personified shadow,
I call Renée.

Uncertain times cause the heart to pound,
The mind wanders and just runs around.
Times seem tough and life seems down,
All amidst Corona and the Covid lockdown.

See it as an opportunity or see it as a curse,
Be a cribbing patient or a nurturing nurse;
It is all a matter of choices and words,
Life's a conscious choice of adjectives and verbs.

Glad that life gave us some time to reflect,
to get into our hearts and introspect.
on the choices we make and the way we live,
whether to carry grudges or to just forgive.

Whatever the case would have been,
I have got some time to be more keen;
to look back and read life’s story again,
the days of joy and the nights of pain.

Was it really caused by the external world,
or was I the sole cause of that swirl?
Now when I look back and think again,
I can clearly see the self-inflicted pain.

While I wait and see my life slow-down,
I feel a bit grateful to this lock-down.
For giving a chance to review and vet,
And save myself from a life of regret!

I now shall choose the gratitude route,
without any glitch or an inch of doubt.
By taking time each day to write-down,
of things that life has weaved around.

The beauty of nature, the chirping of birds,
the morning breeze and the walk in the woods;
I feel surprsied how I could not have found,
such jewels of nature which were always around.

I feel rather thankful to the this lockdown,
for it gave me the needed time to slow down.
To take corrective measures and look around,
and take a joy ride in life's merry-go-round.

With the wind, it disappeared, fathomed away,
Into the unending horizon of lies and mirages.
I could've chased, and followed, and trailed,
through the mountains, seas and mud tracks,
But I had enough of it all.
I had realized, that life was more than just always chasing,
It is about caring what you have,
before it goes away too,
It is about being at home, where your heart rests,
Sleeping peacefully with a mature choir of feelings,
Dousing the fire of greed.
Forever in certainty.
As some things r better lost than given back.
After a long, long time.

Somehow I feel so grateful today
For all I have for all I am
For all those who walk my path with me
And those who left
I breath out gratitude
For my beautiful body
Mine
So warm so dear
For the touch
For the smell
For the sight
For the sounds
For the taste
I am here
And while chaos and uncertainty reigns all around
I stand still
Breath in the unwelcome
And out “thank you”
