I seen her there in that rocking chair
Grey hair flying everywhere
She was rocking as fast as could be
Letting out shrill squeaks of glee

Beneath the wrinkles you could still see
The child she so long ago use to be
In her eyes was a glint
Of a woman hell bent
On squeezing out every once of fun
She knew her time was almost done
But for today she hadn't a care
Let the people stare

I watched the grandkids climb onboard
As Grandma throttled up and the soared
For imagination was her most prized possession
She was leaving it to her grandkids, you could see it in their expression

This lesson from their wild haired grandma that they got
Would never ever be forgot
As that rocking chair flew back and fourth
Leaving the gravity of earth
Headed for an adventure out in the galaxy
Sharing Grandma's fantasy

She was just sitting there cigarette between her fingers
The smoke curling up above her head, it lingered
She was just contemplating the universe, and her place in it
She felt like a round peg trying to be pushed into a square hole, she just didn't fit
She was far more beautiful than she knew and her spirit was a wonderful kind of wild
Her loving generosity was always reflected in her gorgeous smile
It was heart breaking that it was not flashed more often
But what else would you expect when all of her dreams had died and had all but been forgotten

Her Grandma had taught her as a small child of a loving, caring God
She inhaled deeply from her cigarette and thought if He was so loving why had He only punished her with the rod
She exhaled and let the smoke rise above her, maybe her Grandma had been wrong
Her faith was waning because of all she had lived through all she had seen, her faith was almost gone

She snuffed out her cigarette, stood up and took a long look around
She was completely alone, her broken heart beat was the only sound
Her eye's was filled with the tears of a lifetime of pain, anger and sorrow
She was terrified of the uncertain future and what was to follow

If only she had relized how many other's lifes she had touched and changed
She had so many times sacrificed of herself, let her life be rearranged
She had that rare type of heart that could always see past the surface, to see their lost beautiful soul
What an agonizing tragedy she was blinded to her own amazing, loving, unselfish beautiful soul; she just didn't know

My girlfriend is in middle school.
My grandma said that is an issue.
She had never approved.
Aproved of my homosexually tendencies.
She told me it was a sin a tragedy.
It's a sin.
Grandma you aren't even religious.
It doesn't matter you are still a sin.
A sin in the making

Today
I found myself waiting
For your call
I found myself looking for your name
On my screen the first time I woke up
I thought maybe you'd leave another voice mail
We know I sleep through most calls
Today
I didn't get the call
I didn't see your name
There was no voice mail

Today
Was the first birthday that you were gone
I didn't get to hear you ask
"do you know how much i love you?"
Today I cry,
I cry because I miss the only person who could've ever loved me more than God himself.

Little fingers, little toes
It's such a joy to watch you grow
Big bright eyes that greet the day
A crinkled nose with a smile that shines my way
Messy faces at supper time
Couches like mountains that you just have to climb
The wonders of this world seen through your eyes
Such a truly beautiful prize
Child of my child
You have me so beguiled

Sweet grandma
Brush my hair
Sing me a lullaby
To put me fast asleep.

Sweet grandma
Feed me
Clothe me
Keep me warm and content.

Sweet grandma
Take me places
Buy me souvenirs
Show me the world.

Sweet grandma
Show me love
Show me peace;
Show me you.

Sweet grandma
Show me-
Show me your love
For that is all I really need.
To those who love their grandma. My grandma was my caretaker when I was between the ages of 6-10.

To you grandma,
Centuries bear me witness
For I have held mother with honor.
With words of love
That envy doves
As they fly above.
Words of praise
That made the sun question its' purpose for the rise.

I honor mother with words of love and praise,
And this is to you grandma,
Your are a mother too.
You mothered mother, my mother.
So let this come out boldly.
Morning sunshine,
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Have you talked to grandma?
Remember when you needed to smile
And sweet grandma provided the reason to?
Birds singing,
Don’t make a fool of yourselves.
Remember when you needed a tune
And sweet grandma provided with a fortune?
Butterflies waking, spreading wings so expanse,
You look so ridiculous.
Is that how sweet grandma taught you to?
I beseech the wind today.
Whichever direction you are taking,
Recall when you needed a sense of direction and ran to her.
Flowers happy about,
Are you blind?

Dear Mother,
It is me your son. I am writing to you on a note that I know based on my knowledge gathered from this never ending walk in this forest of books and experience.
To thank the lord above.
To thank the lord below
The lord on the sides
The lord within you.
Happy Women’s day grandma
Happy women’s day mother.
This is my way of celebrating and playing with words. Painting them with colors of the rainbow.
You are but rainbows in so many lives
Oh Mother…..Oh! Mother of mine.
How bright is the light?
Flowing from you
Like star rays in all ways.
Grace, show your face today
If you aren’t ashamed.
Let us see you and Mom.
Quick words, quick words quick words of light.
Might we compare your actions to the lilies in the valleys?
So your son comes to the conclusion of this letter. I still have my pen and paper.
Happy women’s day to you.
Abundance of peace and Love always.

The wisest thing my Grandma ever told me
Is take comfort in your misery
Because sometimes that's all your gonna see
Wonder if Grandma knew
Maybe she was trying to give me a clue

That it would be all that live had in store
I'd be ripped apart at the core
That I'd live in constant ashes
Dreams and hope dashes
On the rocks of eternal sorrow it always crashes

Someone clipped my wings
So I would never sing
Someone broke my heart
It now is only art
Someone broke my spirit
So in darkness I will live it

My Grandma so very wise
She knew I'd live through many lies
And rough times ahead of me lay
And still persist to this present day
And I hope from heaven Grandma can see
I take comfort in my misery
Waiting on. The train to see you
Bored, **** coffee and a bacon roll
There is something hollow. Empty.
Like the Starbucks take out mug.
Of course I loved you, love you.
But we lived so far away.
Sweden, Ireland, Switzerland
And then when we were close
I was at my uninterested awkward years
When you don't want to visit your Gran
Now I see this precious woman
Whom I have not often seen.
She is old, frail, and may not know me
I am a man with a life and business.
Where do we connect?
In the bones? In the skin or in the eyes?
I'll show you photos, I hope you will be interested.
What do you say to an old woman
Who you barely know,
but has played a key role in your existence?
Who you feel a connection to like the  seabed between two islands.
But you know precious little about.
Eileen, yes that is your name.
You used to like Black Magic chocolates,
But apparently you don't these days.
Your hip is broken
But hopefully getting better.
And you knitted me a duck when I was small.
I was the youngest, thats why. People said.
You were my Nannie, my precious Gran
And I have come to give you some love and pay some respect.
I wrote this a few years ago but decided to share after reading today's amazing daily poem. Grandma, by Ber http://hellopoetry.com/poem/1544483/grandma/
