there is a glacier
partially concealed
melting from a climactic
climate shift revealing a
reality congealed by revolt

rebels burdened with
a philosophy that
elevates humanity
insisting we will not grovel
before a vain messiah
espousing erroneous
iterations of ideology

will the human race permit
the iceberg to dissolve
as vapid reformist
rhetoric inundates our
political consciousness with
pragmatic progressivism

or will we rise in resistance
with the radicals
fists clenched in protest and
hands outstretched to one
another rather than
lifted high in praise to a savior as we
witness the glacier solidify once more

as CO2 perforates our atmosphere
with heady highs and noxious toxins
will we succumb like dumbfounded
addicts intoxicated by inoculation
consuming the opiated semantics
of charismatic personas or will we

challenge the corrupt
with our wits about us
facing the sobering corporate
corporeality with the pride
of lions facing a den of thieves

abandon the chosen champion
of the vanguard party
we stand hand-in-hand
7 billion
sisters and brothers
in an anthemic chorus of

solidarity that shakes the
bastions of the enthroned
with the resounding shouts of
perseverance in our
non-compliant defiance

our manifestos are written
in the blood sweat and tears
we've shed for this
dream deferred
and we will not be the
silent majority anymore

the masque of anarchy
is ours to share
will we wear its visage
or will hell freeze over
before we choose
freedom
over happiness
"The choice for mankind lies between freedom and happiness and for the great bulk of mankind, happiness is better."
- George Orwell

Let us not aspire to be like them
We are not to follow one man or woman
Or to sacrifice our brothers and sisters

They offer our existence
We give our obedience
They offer us equality
We accept mediocrity

Let us remember not to trust them
We are not to assume their good intention
Or that they can change the hearts of men

They decide at night
We hear speeches in the light
They ask us to blame one another
While they wink at each other

Let us not forget why we love the seasons
We are not to live a life without our own reason
Or spend our time crying like the children we are

Our surrender a cocoon
As is every revolution
Our violence a butterfly
Free will until we die

Hats off to Demosthenes!
Democracy, democracy,
But..
In Australia,
Bit of a failure,
Forced to vote for politicians,
We elect politicians....
We need leaders of power and vision,
Not talking heads on television!
Compelled to vote in a democracy?
Still our lucky country,
O tempora, O mores!
Democracy, democracy,
Hats off to Demosthenes!
Inspired by the daily news. Feedback welcome.

The convinced
and the stupid:
too alike to be

Thankfully, anarchists don't vote.

Maybe it's fate,
Maybe it's destiny.
That losing the battle,
Was meant for me.

I tried my best,
I gave my all.
I'll push through again,
I WILL STAND TALL.

I lost the battle,
Not the war,
I'll spread my wings,
I will soar.

This is simply a lesson,
Life's timely reminder.
Plan well, stay strong.
Be the commander
Congratulations to my friend for winning :) I'd rather you win than someone else, goodluck, may god be with you :)

We know, we broke it

I’m minded today we have a choice
to make our mark and raise our voice
but there are those, it’s very funny
who’d tell you how they’d spend your money.

All over Europe pundits gather
getting themselves in quite a lather
giving opinions on issues political
trying to make them sound so critical.

Skeletons found in many a cupboard
the found out grimace, some have blubbered
and later when all votes are counted
disappointment follows campaigns mounted.

In Germany too they’ll do their thing
as seats stay put or make a swing
France and Italy, Ireland too
votes for Europe are quite a to-do.

Votes are counted on Sunday of course
and Dimbleby brothers roll out in force
the great Swingometer comes into play
as seats are won across the UK.

After all the dust has settled
new MEPs all keen and mettled
all take their seats with po-faced pride
personal pleasure they try to hide.

And so to business for some it’s new
there are many and various things to do
like getting claims in for their expenses
the sitting places – the search for fences.

Alliances to make are the next big thing
who’ll vote with you on anything
but represent those who for you voted
or you’ll be out next time, I hope that’s noted.

They whine and cry-
"This country is going to the dogs."
They complaint and protest-
"Down with this corrupt government."
They crib and blame-
"Pull down those lazy thieving *******."

But when it's time, on Election day
They take the day off, they holiday
The Whining Losers, they say -
"Ah, let a few Morons go and vote
I am above politics,
What matter's it to me."

Dare you not raise another finger,
Dare you not whine and complaint.
You're not a part of democracy.
You're what this country bears in vain.
