Gooder and Badder
Bedder and fadder
What are Americans saying?
Boddle of wadder
Mudder and fodder
What is this game we are playing?

Funner and betterer,
Pitcher and ledder
They expect folks to unnerstan
Gimmes and wannabes
Mundees though Sundees
A hunnert and ten grand.

Gooder and Badder
Bedder and fadder
What are Americans saying?

Reedikullis and eeleegull
Furrin kinds of peepul
Should learn American English
Even when it’s ignernt,
And sounds  a bit differnt,
A definite ***** to distinguish.

Boddle of wadder
Mudder and fodder
What is this game we are playing?

Inneresting innerlopers
Drunky ***** goat ropers
That’s what they think strangers are.
Our dippy high schoo dropouts
Don’t care what education’s about
And only care about today’s sports stars.

Gooder and Badder
Bedder and fadder
What are Americans saying?
Boddle of wadder
Mudder and fodder
What is this game we are playing?

Educated people
That think they
Know everything
There is a need
To know
-
To them
I have
A mind
To blow
I don´t mind, being a little behind

Brown, peeling rubber soles on big feet
Crunch crunch, the gravel and glass goes underfoot
The overcast gloom of the early morning.
Depressed and downhearted buildings lining the streets.
Weeds encircling the gardens like a dragon looming over its prey.
Flowers hanging their heads, gravely.

Smudged faces, dark purple eyes, gaunt complexion, another restless night for these children.
Bruises up and down each leg.
Trodden, broken. “Not good enough” ringing in their ears.
Dreary faces, ripped uniforms.

The school building silhouetted against the grey, emotionless sky.
“Line up in rows, nice and neat”
They would hear this repeated for the rest of their lives.
A zebra crossing worn and battered.

Cigarettes passed from frail, wrinkled, hopeless hands.
Hooked on 4 a day at the age of 13
The wind groaned through the yard.
Somber faces, with wide eyes awaiting an education.

Pale arms and legs bristling in the playground.
Teachers thinking the sun has set on their dreams.
The corporations rubbing their hands, stamping their boots.
Another day at school now, but do they have a future?

WHITE, BLUE CAP WAVES ROAR IN, PULL OUT

SWEEP DEEP OCEAN FLOOR

SHELLS SMOOTH, SHELLS ROUGH, POINT CURVED

PUSH ON BEACH AND SHORE

WAVES AND WINDS SHAPE

ATLANTIC’S COAST

I PICK UP SPECIAL SHELLS FOR YOU

HOLD THEM GENTLE IN YOUR HAND

ARE THESE GIFTS FOR YOU NEW?

SO WHEN YOU SEE YOUR CHOSEN SHELLS

REMEMBER OCEAN WATERS WIDE

STORIES TELL, ABOUT YOUR SHELLS

WHEN CREATURES LIVED INSIDE!

WHITE, BLUE CAP WAVES ROAR OUT, PULL IN

OCEAN TREASURES AGAIN BEGIN

I want it all so I can throw it away
You heard me right, that’s what I say

I want to study and get a degree
And get a job in the big city.

Then I’ll save and live off crumbs
And grow my wealth while I take none

And at ten years I’ll say I’m through
And I’ll sell my stuff, the apartment too.

I’ll use the funds to move out west
To California, that would be best.

I’ll buy a place, just big enough for me
And a new guitar to play by the sea.

I’ll learn and grow in all new ways
That can’t be taught in school these days.

I’ll meet new chums and live for the tunes
And never go back to society’s ruins

Unless my music is a real success
Or this poetry stuff, which is just a mess

And really who knows? I might meet the one
And as for kids? Well we’ll have none

And I’ll be happy knowing I’ll have changed
And broken the curse that’s born with my name

But really I just want to lose it all
And live like I’ll die, but resist death’s call.
hey, I'm new here so I'm just testing the waters with this poem. it's kinda hot headed but it's actually what I want to do with my life :)

heart aching
it's bleeding
love gushing out
shining onto future faces that I have not yet met

I want to teach them
make them smile
tears wash down my face at the thought of them crying
at thoughts of them drowning in sorrow
in them needed guidance
direction
anything to help them not fall in

My chest seizes
tension as I imagine them singing
laughing at jokes
smiling with pride at each success
each trophy and red triangular letter
that they knew they could earn

I want to run to them, I want to hug them
let my heart bleed out and fill theirs to the brim
to let my pain wash over them in love
till all feel only happiness and there are no more tears to shed

but for them i will wait
for them i will live with the pain
the pain that they are not yet mine
i will build up my arsenal of caring skills
so that when i draw the map to perfection
i Will not lead them off course

for them I will wait
with pain in my heart
because I know one day they will be mine
and they will never forget
their teacher with the bleeding heart
I want to teach middle schoolers with my whole being, but I will finish college before I trust myself to lead and to teach them right.
