I guess I just expected
Something else

It happens every year,
I get excited
Hopeful
Giddy
That maybe
This year will be
Different.

Maybe I'll find an awesome friend
Who does my nails
And answers calls at two am
Like Nicole did
Before she moved to California

Or she could be like Kayla
Who would be silly with me in
Drama class
And use chocolate sauce for blood
In our Black and White movie
Before her dad died in combat
And she went to bury him in
Some foreign country
Where cell phones
Don't count

Or a boyfriend like Louis
That I could see a future with
Sitting listening to Relient K
In a college dorm
With a million years to spare
Before he left for London

But the girl in front of me
In English
Pops her gum for the boy
In the next desk
And could poke my eye out
With her fake straightened hair.

The girl in my drama class
Cakes on her mask and
Participates in pageant after pageant
And calls her anorexia
A diet

And I heard the rumor
That the boy I thought was cute
In chemistry
Was caught ******* his
Girlfriend
Under her desk in
Español Dos.

I didn't think my standards were too high to meet.
"Nothing gold can stay."
-Robert Frost
Smoke hanging in the air
The feeling of falling is not fair
Lisping out my empty thoughts
In the form of shots
Poured out one after another
Drunk off of you
I’m intoxicated by your presence
But your love is not present
I once thought I was falling for you
But I was just falling for your lies
I was in love with those eyes
But they were just a disguise
Hiding the real you
You’re the masked bandit
Covered with lies, but all I want is truth
I want to know the real you
I want to really love you
Feeling this mutual feeling
With no mutual ground
My razor kissing my skin
Instead of your lips
I never thought falling in love
Would mean falling out
I never thought kisses
would turn into stitches
I guess thats what happens when
You get love drunk
I mean
It is what it is

I'll curl up and write
As an escape from this mess
And you;
Under the setting sun
And the glowing moon.

I'll tell lies
But only to myself
Because you, you should be spared
From the moment when my sanity snaps.

I'll think of you
Grasping at the straws of love
And you fell- oh how beautifully you fell!
Into another's arms, held away from mine.

I'll leave you
In his arms, in his shelter,
Because I've always been good at clean breaks,
I'll even clean up the ashes.
Incoherent.
I get a little sad,
at little times,
over little things.

Little things like my friends
ignoring me and talking over me.

Little things like being alone
in a room full of people.

Sometimes it's the little things,
that make me smile on
the darkest days, waking me
from my sleepy stupor.

Little things like someone
who holds the door.

Little things like sharing
a smile with a stranger.

It's the little things
that mean the most
in this little, cruel world.
This little blue dot.
Try doing something little for someone today. A little thing for you might mean the world to them.

Some voids
You just can't fill
But that never
stopped you
From loving me.

Some of us
Go too astray
To ever come back
To who we once were
But that never stopped you
From calling out my name

Some things
You just can't repair
But that never stopped you
From trying

Some flowers
Wilt when you touch them
But your tender touch
Only livened their petals

Some angels
Are destined to fall
But somwhow you were always
At the right place
To catch one of them.

And today when
I stood among stangers
In the pouring rain
Waiting for my train
I was reminded
How it felt
Without you
So this is for my future husband
Ik im 17 and i should not be thinking about this but i was wondering how i dont want a loveless marriage like i saw a couple and they did not even know each other's fav. Song or stuffs. It's like their job was just to procreate. And i don't want that and so i was just wondering how he would be; if he has black eyes or dark brown.. well tbh it does not matter as long as he loves me. :) i hope you guys enjoyed reading this

Cry yourself to sleep, little one
No one has to know
Of the trembling under the sheets
And the tears on your pillow

Cry yourself to sleep, little one
It's time to get some rest
You've had another long day
And a lot more to get off your chest

Cry yourself to sleep, little one
You've been so brave for so long
Forget everything for a while
And believe that nothing is wrong

Cry yourself to sleep, little one
Soon the dark will come fast
I know you dread tomorrow
Maybe, we pray, tonight will be the last.

I could probably write a bunch of stanza's
With black letters and white background of metaphors and similies
I could use pretty words and figures of speech
And end with something ironic.
Or use lines that we've all heard before and try to pass it off as my own,
or write something that's all too vague.
But the truth is
All I'd really be writing about
Is the same old concept that's been written about in poetry for years
And the same feeling that's felt all across the world on a Saturday night when we are alone:
A little bored
Maybe even a little lonely
And a little desperate for a miracle.

He was such a sweet talker,
Met him at a real nice bar
He didn't have a ring on
I didn't know it would go so far

Yes, he is a charming *******
That sounds like his M O
Always getting drunk in a bar
Looking for his next ***

That's not how it was
He wasn't even that drunk
I see it all clearly now
His lies all stunk

The first thing I thought
as I saw you two together
Is not what a lady should say
So I think that I had better
Keep my mouth shut
And rise above the situation
Calling you a ****
Would just start a confrontation.

Listen here, "wife"
I didn't know he was married,
Thats not my type.
Throw away this hatchet you carried
I'm not the one you should be mad at,
He's been doing this behind BOTH our backs!

That is fine "mistress"
I think we can both agree
He is the one to blame and
it shouldn't be taken out on you or me
Now the hatchet that you talk of
The one that I have carried
I know what we should do
And where it should be buried

Who knows how many times
He's sweet talked an innocent girl
We could do something real nice
To rock his fantasy world
What do you say, you and me?
I think this could be destiny.....

**To Be Continued.....
