your drunken lips,
my ***** tongue

remind me what it’s like to feel whole -
when there’s not a gaping void in my chest.

tell me i’m beautiful
only this time, you mean it.
the bruises on my legs mark the lies of you from a past when all I did was bleed on your bed sheets and whine about the aesthetics of any place that didn't feel like home, that didn't feel like you. but I digress. but I digress.
2. Because it no longer held you.
I watch

video clips of rollercoasters

so that I can feel my heart race. Sometimes

I can't remember what it feels like.

And I never want to forget again.

Not for one second.

I love you,
I tell her in parenthesis;
Which is to say I didn't tell her that at all.

And that has made all the difference.

we all know them now as warriors;
they were brave and strong and instead of
weeping in the shadows, they
rose higher with the wings that heaven itself gave them.
it was one of the darkest periods in human history
and yet they still held themselves together
and never gave up no matter what
obstacle got stuck in their path
and although most may not be here today,
we are to bless them like the moon
blesses the sun when it sets into
the newly lit night sky
for they are the reason why the war
ended in the first place.
they are the ones who wouldn't allow
bullets to be thrown at them without a fight,
and for those reasons,
we shall forever be thankful.
this is for all of those who are lost and forgotten. for those who fought their damnedest to help others. for those who have to live the rest of their lives knowing ancestors of their own family were murdered by a beast.
                                                i love you.
i said i love you
not because you
said it first
my first love
was a bright girl
who dreamt of
meeting new
sunshines
before she slept
in a hearse

my first love
will live within my
thoughts
even when i am
on my death bed
as my children
search for a suit
that will fit well
on my tired corpse

my first love
captured my heart
at sixteen
puppy love
that, then, felt
like the sweetest
dream

my father told me
you will forget your
first love
like you forget a daydream
but how can this be a
thought in the wind
when it stays in my mind
like a chubby child who enters a
candy store
can't get rid of his grin

Toxic

Our relationship is always a give and take,
except I always give,
and you always take.
You're toxic.

You're the extra number in H2O2
Seemingly harmless,
But deadly. Combustible.

You're toxic.

You're the thought
That started killing
In the name of God.

You're toxic.

You're Helen of Sparta,
Or Troy, if you will.
Without the supposed beauty or skill.

You're Toxic.

You **** everything you touch.
Flowers suffocate
When they share your air.

You're toxic.
Lies and hope are toxic to a relationship as well as the past. If you bring up things that happened yesterday over and over again how will you ever move forward in your life with your partnership. Lying about the past to keep them content doesn't work nor does telling them the truth about it. Nobody likes when they find out or hear bad things about someone they fell in love with. Lying to yourself that your happy with how things are wont help either. To remove toxicity from life and love is to remove the past that got you to the point were you are now with the one you love... you have to have rainy days to enjoy sunny ones.
