Hasten, Hasten,
Do not flock away as the Shepard calls,
Come now and be free,
To fly among the stars,
And bury all hope of depravity,
Shine forth as a casket of golden light,
Look down with your grace
And bring forward lost souls
Fumbling around for lost pleasures in the dark,
Give them sight,
Bestow upon them with your light,
Sing and cry out your truths of life,
We are here and now,
Not locked in Past's mental prison
or caught in Future's trap,
Give us our days in shells, not in bread,
Let us open them one by one,
See what prizes awaits for us in its stead.

Live and be free,
Smote only those who hold you back from being
thee.

In Dreams
Paris Raine May 2015
Fall with me into sleep,
In dreams we will meet,
To find our peace,
Soft release.

The flight of wings into open blue,
Come with me; I'll follow you,
Forever intwined; eternally divine,
Soar into light.

I'll whisper into your ear,
I'll try to make it very clear,
Forever intwined; eternally divine,
Fall into light

Fall with me,
Soar with me
Lyrics from a song I perform with my band Tired Angels (PAEN)

The Setting of the sun
Paris Raine May 2015
We all came for the setting of the sun,
Spread amongst the cliffs above the open blue,
Our eyes set on the East and the Western
Wind flowing behind Gia's tide,

Taking a slow-dive into the sea,
Colours were opened produced only by dreams,
We watched it fall into the depths,
and close for its sister, Moon.
Paris Raine May 2015
The innocents are coming out to die,
Their back's against the sky,
The sun leaking through their sides,
The time is now to walk on,
To leave this life behind and those who built it
so high, so that only those
who can afford wings can fly,
leaving the rest to die.

Left in slow ruin and pain,
We long to be reborn
through love and the sane,
Doom is only before us,
A path laid by masons
to guide us easily on our way,
to a destination destitute with pain.

Can you smell it in the air?
The smell of fever and disease
created by a higher greed,
to fulfil a plot of twisted deeds,
labouring over common needs.

Behind the bushes and the trees,
There are mysteries to be seen,
Stark, wild and mad people,
Dressed in silk, cloaked in hoods,
Their eyes in darkness as they should,
To see no trickery or lies, they hide behind
masks whilst laughing inside.

The innocents are coming out to die,
Their backs against the sky,
The sun leaking through their sides,
The time is now to walk on,
To leave this life back and beyond.

The New Candle
Paris Raine Oct 2014
Here comes the countdown,
The ring of twelve awaits,
I lay bare in my chamber,
Nothing past this will ever equate.

He never came through the window,
Nor did I catch his shadow,
To take me to his Netherland
And live as innocence incarnate.

The fresh second has passed,
I inhabit the other side,
I stand sheathed among the others,
I stand as Adam, with dignity
By my side.

The ship is leaving from the shore,
Here are my records from life abroad,
The twelfth ticking finger; the other side,
Aboard the Grand Expectation, at high tide.

I remember those days in practising
Youth, to obtain those leisure’s, I
Now pursue. Wishing for time to burn
Away whilst the paper’s smoke, astray.

I have no hand to follow,
Only my own two feet,
Down the path to *‘prepare the face,
For the faces that I will meet.’

My shelter has been broken,
I face this open world,
Life expels, whilst hope
Is tortured and contorted.

Yet, I will find a place to stand,
Among a band of life’s grand
plan, To sit with the others,
Plated in Dionysian armour.

We will set upon the stage
And light Pandora’s candle,
So the last flicker of hope,
Will blind Failure’s scandal

And I will look back,
At the awe of innocence,
Through eyes who have seen a
Thousand smiles, whilst laughing

We are Life’s but inner-child.

Undying Light
Paris Raine May 2015
I wonder when these shoes will wear?
If they'll ever spare another tear,
All scruffed and gruffed,
All wrinkled and crow'd,
A pair for a no show.

I wonder when this jacket will cease
to respire any fibre?
When the hem will begin to stem
an elongated thread,
The buttons express of remorse,
Why must they fall short?

I wonder when these trousers
will fail to hold my waist?
No matter to extensions or nostalgic reconsiderations,
No belt will spare thee,
or brace to contain me.

I wonder when these fingers
will cease to play?
All the joints never to cease with pain,
Wave away the cartilage and ivory keys,
Never to be pleased with the hollow sound.

I wonder when these ears
will turn hollow?
Through and out, not even a shout
Just regress into silent
remoteness.

I wonder when this love will fade?
Like the shoes and the clothes,
my fingers and musical repose,
But I'm not afraid,
For I know these will fade.

All is made to evaporate
apart from
the love that hides from sight
but burns in glorious light

Through the portals of our mind
that same light I see
time after time,
lit within your eyes.

A Voice Passing into Dreams
Paris Raine May 2015
I was asleep when I felt her,
A voice passing into dreams,
Her body pressed against my back,
Whispering wakefully into my ears,
A current of euphoria shudders through
my veins,
Blessing and kisses shower my face,
The last landing lustfully on my lips,
She speaks, 'Who said I didn't love you?'
Opening my eyes to watch her go,
I wake to my room; alone.

Awoken; the rain shattering the window,
Spoken; the wind howls through cracks and panes,
Shaken; the night's air slips past the seal and lingers,
Taken; the moon spills over the sky light and hypnotises my sight.

I awake from dreams of bitter content,
I catch your scent against my skin,
I loose all sense startled by lament
I turn to my side and hear wind cry.

Faint echoes across the land of vices
from the darklands,
Rapping and tapping,
Trying to break-in,
calling for the chief sin.

Fastened I'll fail it to give show,
to cloud the images of our time in glow,
Dreams weave whilst eyes flutter,
When I wake your name I utter.
