You read my poetry,
then turned away,
as if the words
had nothing to say.
Each line was a pulse,
it was a part of me,
yet you drift on past,
too blind to see
that my verses ache,
hoping to be heard,
yet silence lingers,
louder than each word.
The ink may fade,
but my feelings remain,
as I laid my heart bare,
was it all in vain?

Sometimes I surprise myself,
he eyes himself
and thinks
I scrub up well,
but I wake up the same
calling your name.

From the battlements, a trumpet sounds
rolling across the manicured lawns and
well-tended grounds
there are no rough edges in my dreams.

jetliners line the runways
someways a way out there
and I'm stood here twiddling my thumbs
watching as she ties up her hair.
dreams are ignorant of the time we set them in, they jump across the centuries like I used to jump across small streams.

Sometimes-

I wish I had never
Known romantic love.
I have been chasing a high
No substance can fulfill
Ever since.
Two painful events led to a hospital
and a team of cardiologists, lots
of tests ensued, a plugged artery
in my heart they informed, a stent
procedure in a few days will hopefully
solve the problem and I can get back to
normal living, normalcy you see is a very
good thing. Not to be taken for granted.
Hope to see you all on the flip side.

have you ever seen

moonlight on the lake?

the moon whispering

to the water lilies,

the lilies white as the lace of a bride's gown.

have you ever sat on a log

contemplating the mystery
of a cold and distant romance?

2 hearts
forever longing to,
but not able to embrace

separated by endless night...

...wild birds are singing,

and dawn's sweet chorus
chases away the sad, lonely moon.

have you ever heard the moon
loves the flowing water,

loves the mortal music
of earth-borne water lilies?
Always talks you down
no religion in his frown
He's bigger than you or me
loves to see you down on knee
He's backed you into a corner
He's isolated you as a loner
Accuses you of assualt
If you protest he balks
Always your fault he says
Turns your thoughts to maze
I've said too much
Between his thumb's touch
I said too little
Calls all attempts piddle
I thought I heard you laughing
Just him slashing
It must have been a dream
or so it seemed
The beginning was the end
The remains are prayers and amens
Just the distance in your eyes
Just the mask of your disguise
The no answers to all of my whys . . .
Now I've said enough
