Why do we burden our hearts
With all those weights of guilt
Of regrets etched so deeply in our souls
Rushing towards the darkness we ourselves built

Why do we regret
Those shattered dreams
When new ones can be sought
Endlessly in our mind's realms

Why do we regret the loss
Of friendships fading away in the chaos
They were chapters of life's book
Ending with every milestone we cross

Why do we regret the decisions
Made on an impulse, without a care
On the train to our destinies
A few unplanned detours we are bound to fare

Why regret the life we lived
Upon reaching the end
Mayhap we'll live it differently, given a second chance
But the Maker's laws for us will never bend

I fell into the ocean of your eyes
Oh how alluring you were
You washed me in serenity
More peaceful than a sunrise
And more beautiful than
The night sky
But I must have forgotten
No matter how beautiful the ocean is
It swallows thousands of people whole
Every year
Another person lost beneath it’s waves
Their identity fading in reality
As quickly as it fades beneath the surface
You are
the ink,
the page,
the poem.
"Surely you must've known, it was all for you." -Pride and Prejudice

twelve am - those conversations worth staying up start to flow
one am -  another sleepless night, with thoughts featuring you
two am - the demons come out at night to haunt you
three am - i'm starting to miss you again, missing you more than i should
four am - making up scenarios in my head, of things that we could be
five am - time where I hate myself most & sadness starts to kick in
six am - sunrise is coming, heavy eyes, where sleep is awaiting
seven am - another morning with fake smiles & laughter, pretending to be happy
eight am - only looking forward to seeing you
nine am - a real smile comes along with the thought of you
ten am - telling myself to not break down & cry
eleven am - wandering off having daydreams

tick tock tick tock

ten pm - in my bed, ready to sleep
eleven pm - tossing & turning, just like the usual
twelve am - the same routine everyday

Let go.
Let go of that burden that you
Desperately
Cling to.
Your hands have gone white
Because of the tight grip around it.
Are you afraid?
Afraid to drop it at His feet?
Do you feel unworthy of His grace?
Do you feel as though the sin you've made
Is written across your face?
The answer is yes and yes.
We are unworthy
Unholy
Unclean.
But He calls to us-
He chases after us!
Because He loves us.
He loves you.
& He loves me.
Even after all that we've done-
All that we've hidden
All that we've failed to do-
He still loves us.
& His love is never ending.
It flows like a fountain
Without end.
There is nothing we could do to stop that love
From pouring out
Towards us.
It wraps itself around you and me
Encompasses us until we do not see ourselves.
We see change.
We see a difference.
We see God.

in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us."
