It was a room crowded by people.
They talked in groups with so much eager.
But beneath the laughter and joyous sight
was a girl who saw not the light.
And there she was, standing
in the corner, just pretending
that she was happy to be around,
when, really, she was screaming with no sound.

Everyone was so happy,
but all she wanted was to flee.
None of those people cared of her!
Why should she stay and drown in fear?
None of them even noticed her there!
Like she was just another gust of air.

When there was yet another party,
who got uninvited? None but she!
When there was a share of cake,
She was lucky she could have a take.
Then  why? Why did she stick around?
It hit her. Because for another year is she bound.
There is always that one student in a class who just looks like (s)he wants to hide behind a veil. In this case, you know who that person is.

i hope next year
people will get better
this year's been torture
as i suffered through
sins and thoughts of misfortune
not just for me,
many people have come and go
people i always forgot
were getting older and couldn't hold on anymore
the news this year was depressing
each day I turned it on
another shooting, another one held hostage
another fight
the list goes on and on
it seems like people just can't have it any other way
so I'm praying next year
we can all take a breath
sit back and relax
as we smile at the simple things
and I pray that God will shed light
on the problems at hand
so we can become better
instead of blindly going through life
amen.
For anyone who has struggled this year, I have two things to say:
1. You are not alone.
2. Always have hope that things will get better.

GracefulWords
A
Poem
Is just a
Jumbled mix
Of words, shaped
And shifted according
To the writer's every whim-
Lovely, gray, unexpected, cliche,
Harsh, crisp, ragged, soft, or pointed
As an
Arrowhead

I will not be my parents.

For every negative comment they exchange,
I will have something positive to say.
For every door that slams,
I will hold one open.

I will not let myself bring unhappiness to the table, then wonder why supper is so bitter.

Are her battle field
Her scars
Are her battle wounds

An eye for an eye
And the whole world will be blind
Peace will not be achieved
And the whole world will be flooded
With tears that tear people apart

Alone
In the darkness
With the only light
Shining from the living room
Daddy sleeping
Mummy cheating
Sister partying
Brother serving
And me
Alone
In the darkness
With the only light
Shining from the living room
