always anxious
She started doing exercises so she could be stretchy.
So she could be ****.

She started putting on makeup so she could be pretty.
So she could be perfect.

She started starving herself so she could be thinner.
So she could be a winner.

She started cutting so she could they'd all notice her.
So she'd with her demons concur.

She hang herself so she wasn't in the way.
So she didn't have to stay.

Thank you for always being here,
when I needed you the most.
When I asked you to come over,
you were there in a matter of minutes and most days,
you even brought your best friend Anxiety,
so we wouldn't be alone.
Some days,
you asked if you could stay over,
because you were all alone and really needed a hug.
My reply was a of course,
I know how it feels like to be alone in this world.

But now,
now you will not leave,
no one else wants you and I'm stuck here with you in my bedroom.
I don't remember how it felt like,
before you came around and it is like having a best friend you just can't be apart from.
It is weird because sometimes I hate you,
other times I can't live without you.
You can make me feel so important,
yet so dead and I wish I did not have to say this,
but dear Depression,
I think it is time for you to leave.

Let us run,
Let us hide,
Let us fade,
Along with the tide.
Within the sea,
She silently breathed,
The heavens were waiting,
Along with me.

Miss you she said
-looking up at the sky-
She turned her back,
And waved goodbye.
Submerged by the water,
Slowly she sinks
-Timeless and lifeless-
No seconds to think.

Slowly she drifts,
At peace at last.
Looking back at her life,
It sure was a blast.
What happened to her?
What went so wrong?
What caused her to go..
After so long?

The time has now ended,
Along with her pain.
She can now rest,
Can't be harmed again.

Oftentimes I don't understand
The things that are going through my mind
Or the words that come out of my mouth
And sometimes I'm just completely blind
To the things that I do, the actions I choose
And the hurt I inflict on those I love.
And in my heart of hearts, in my deepest depths
I don't mean any of the negative things in my head.
These actions, and words, and thoughts of mine
They always end up hurting me, destroying me.
I want it all to be erased, to have a clear, calm mind
And when it happens, my happiness will be my greatest achievement

Happy Hippie Madness
Within a second, the bright autumn sky burned into a dark, smoky nightmare.
7 more hours until school got out,
but only 4 more crashes till the world falls apart.
While cookies and juice were in my hands,
The nation had a situation in theirs.
When I arrived home,
Daddy was staring blankly at the TV.
Mommy hit the couch before her shoes hit the floor.
I sat down with her and watched.
While I enjoyed the movie,
My parents feared the truth.
We watched one building fall
just as fast as my mother's heart.
We saw the second building fall
half as fast as my father's heart.
When the third plane hit the pentagon,
the sudden sound of sadness flooded the apartment.
And as the final plane fell in Pennsylvania,
the night died in silence.
The next autumn morning felt cold and misty,
and I drowned in my thoughts of the movie.
The announcements came on at an unexpected time,
and silence flooded the school
like it did in my house the night before.
This refers to my experience of 9/11. At the time, I was only 6 years old and in first grade. I barely had an understanding of the things that were happening that day and all I can recall is that I thought it was a movie.
