Your kind of love cripples me
I am weak,
I am sad,
I feel hopeless
You turned my life into a contest
Two for the price of one, plus a dollar:
You make me feel like raggedy Ann
Red braids and strips stocking
Cherry lips with white and blue smocking
A fabulous smile with twinkly eyes
am I the next Ms. Amy Winehouse?
I have let my mind become one with my thoughts
like an overpower incoming tide,
I am dying on the inside
I am flawless today
Eventually, tomorrow I will feel worthless
I am emotional abuse by
the master of deception and that’s you
I was your candy, yet you withdraw the cane
Leaving the flavor all sticky- icky
My long distant Lover

The last time I saw you
You brought Toffee
Purple daisy, red lilies
Stinky Missy and daffodils’
You put them in the vase,

I panic and said “who die?

We were stunned
and asked each other: Why now?
After all these years

Truce!
Love has not any pride
Ten years together
We never spoke
For goodness sake!
Can’t you see I am trying my best:
woman!
Stop you *******,
you had *** with my sister!

He Will Rule Over You
Dark n Beautiful May 2015
It varies from woman to woman, however
this girl will always hate giving birth

Maybe she wouldn’t even get married nor have ****** *******
More than forty years ago those childish thoughts kept circling in my mind
It didn’t take long for her to realize that *** and babies had something in common
Nana so often said to us girls with her Island slang
“What sweeten a goat mouth, would burn his tail end”
So girls you're worth it, don’t do it

The after effects, the after effects so complex and powerful

Nana woke us up in the wee hours of the morning
either with her singing, or the rattling of the *** and pans
I knew at some point I would come to hate being a nurse
I probably wouldn’t be able to show Compassion
If you aren’t compassionate enough: being a Nurse isn’t for you
I hated those homebirth early morning deliveries
Not enough light, no running water in the homes,
And the list goes on in late sixties on the Island

When I finally woke up that morning
I noticed Nana’s black bag on the table:
Her lily white apron on the back of the chair
How she got her uniform to stay so white was a miracle to me
Granddad was outside fixing something under the old Wolseley bumper
Using an old flittering kerosene paraffin lamp to get the job done

Our country farm house sat the bottom of the hill
So Grandad needed the old Wolseley car to be in good condition
To pulled Porte hill and there I was about to be Nana’s Nursing Assistant

Was I up for the yelling, screaming, crying? At my age, I wasn’t,
However, being defiant wasn’t appealing, Nana played on our emotions
another one of her favorite island slangs
“Some children are to be ****** to death if they are defiant to their parents said Nana”
I was also too sleepy to sulk so I sat and quietly listen to her rambling on and on:

So I turned all my thoughts and energy to Genesis 3:16
To the woman he said, "I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."

And that was my last words to Nana: No man shall have control over my body

and that was my last trip with Nana on her delivering baby route.

Mother's Prayer:
Dark n Beautiful May 2015
Mother's Prayer" by Mary A. Loberg.

A Mother's Prayer
Help me dear Lord, as a mother, I pray
And bless these hands folded in prayer today;
May they be ever strong as they guide, as they teach,
Beings never too far for a child to reach.
May they never, with selfishness, try to dissuade,
Nor too quickly punish, nor too slowly aid.
May they point out the pleasures in laughter and song,
And may they show, wisely, the right from the wrong,
So that one day I'll know that I've helped all I can
To make her a woman, to make him a man.
Mother's Prayer" by Mary A. Loberg.

My narrative Reportage
They said that I made a better storywriter than a poet
However, poets get their ideas from stories,
But my creativity comes from a glass of Moet Chardon (:)
Yesterday, I saw a homeless man got on the train during rush hour
He passed right through the crowd and went on his way to the front car
and leaned against the moving  door

His sudden outburst of laughter made the passengers looked around
He was a sight for sore eyes this character,
but instead he became my instant story to tell
Or behold a Poet laureate mastered piece
Dark soiled clothes he wore, his dingy T-shirt he use for a hanky:
With empty pocket hanging low, toothless he smile and kept on smiling
Slurred speech and some missing toes he became my focus point
What’s the use of having lot of money and not sharing?
Within those moments, I saw a decade of homelessness within his character
An ex-mariner, a husband, a degraded broken hearted soldier,
America a failing superpower country:
and most of all New York City a FAILING disaster
So I began my journey, either to compose a poetry piece or tell my eyewitness story into sections of poetry and fiction:
One of my favorites of Joseph Campbell quotes:
Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning. ”
― Joseph Campbell

A Poet
The modern Poetess writes not because she wants to form words on a page, but because she loves the rhyming and verses that flows around in her head, getting the issue resolved for the next poetic generation to come:

Poetry is the journal of the sea animal living on land, wanting to fly in the air. Poetry is a search for syllables to shoot at the barriers of the unknown and the unknowable. Poetry is a phantom script telling how rainbows are made and why they go away.

Compassion, compassion

Poets, viewers, poems with injurious remarks
Why we do the things we do?

We were born to suffer together
a poet who asked his viewers to feel his pain
Throughout the lines, while tearing down the barriers
that separate and divide the poet and the readers

I bluntly said to that poet, one heart, and one love
If I was to say to that poet:  death is good for some people
They deserve to die a painful death,
Am I asking too much of the poet to show empathy:

Who gave him the right, to steer me through his attitude and guilt
Who gave him the right, too asked of me to join a sympathetic crusade?
right now I'm in the process of turning empathy off and say buzz off Man!

I Was In Love With A Poem

I was in love with a Poem:

The poet lured her victims into her wild kingdom of
Word, words, words, that
became the forest of ****** illusion
verses and verses that I never encounter;

In this kingdom I never notice the Sunrise before Sunset
The chanting before the protesters
Lightening before the winds
suddenly brought on by the rain,
That triggers the mighty storms:

The poetics effects of Similes, Hyperbole,
Understatement and personification devices got my attention
Pages after pages,
line of words that opened my eyes,
The mighty pen, a trending poem,
and there I was a loyal reader
With an amazing cup of hot coffee

The poem took me through
this much-modernized tale of
Alice’s rabbit hole adventures

Poems are to be read aloud,
loving making is meant to be private
So is mourning for the dead:
Some things are just meant to be...private

My love for the poem and
my admiration on its poetic views
Is more than human emotions,
than my stimuli of brain ***
I read the poem while sipping my coffee,

Birth, death, politics and religion
***, drugs and empty souls : human emotions,

The poets became the underwear sale men
They tried to sell their poems to the optimist
Whereas an Queen of African Pop singer exposes her body on stage
While belting out loud outrageous lyrics, because she was a crowd pleaser

Long poems, short poems
Old century poets, modern contemporary poets
We all have the right to sermonize your words into magical dust,
The contemporary poets stood on the balcony reciting,
Some onlookers’ claps and some Jarred

Today’s youth is being waste away faster than their elders
Chanting, raving ranting rapping lyrics from the balcony
making a mockery of the old century poetic poets
The poets became the underwear sale men
as they tried to sell their poems to the optimist
However, legendary John Lennon’s scribbles, letters and poems have proved a hit for Sotheby’s after exceeding their pre-sale estimates to sell for almost $3 million in New York.
The former Beatle’s nonsensical poem, “The Fat Budgie”, sold for $143,000 (£85,000) despite being valued at the much lower price of $35,000 (£21,000).
Handwritten manuscript “I Sat Be lonely” took four times its estimate and went for $137,000 (£82,000), while a corrected typescript called Neville Club surpassed its £12,000 (£7,000) estimate to sell for $100,000 (£60,000).

I just want to write a poem no one ever thought of writing
It must have the same effects as walking on the moon
It must trend faster than a meteor as it  hurdles through cyber space

I refused to love any man, who dislikes my poetry,
My man must support my passion ..
not only the warmth of my body
but the passion within this poetess, my secretive mind he must be able to balance:
Without wondering why a woman like me is so naturally secretive
I am always embracing the dark side of my creativity
Dropping little hints here and there throughout the years,

Sidney   J. Harris once said something that left pondering thoughts
He said “When he hears somebody sighs,
'Life is hard,' he’s always tempted to ask them, 'Compared to what?'
I would simply say dog-gone it: Compared to struggling poets whose tries to make a living as a writer

While an upcoming rapper like Chief Keef
signed a several-million dollar deal
with offending lyrics in today music industries:

I just want to write a poem no one ever thought of writing,
With lots of intense emotion bursting through each line:
Because a poem can’t exist without a poet's multiple voices
and most of all his divine missions

Self-discipline, self-hatred

He seem hammered standing there on the podium
We all stood there quietly waiting,
shifting from one foot to another,
Suddenly, I recalled the Pied Piper of Hamelin
and there we was about to be
Lured into another poet’s madness
Persuasion and performances
What came next brought the crowd to order
He said *******, *******, and **** all of you.
I think I can still hear the record scratch sound effect
coming to a halt .... then he said

The Intruder
Dark n Beautiful Mar 2015
A yellow belly cardinal launches itself at my window
Pecks away at the old window pane,
Should I chase the intruder away?
Or should I make him the subject of my next poem
He became my inspiration, and I his adversary
It slurred whistled phrases calm my inner soul

After a while the pecking annoys my daughter’ cat
So, here I am compromising myself and not caring
Because I am about to compose a piece:
About war and peace: title
Fluffy and the **** bird
I took out my camera and zoom in on its beady eyes,
and realize that it was as blind as a bat

Teeth-chattering, tail going from side to side,
doing the war dance this **** cat,
A blind cardinal with a sweet melody
what more can I asked for, but to watch and learn
from the intruder, the spoil feline and the observer,

Should I chase the intruder away?
Or let my daughters’ cat razz it?

You clustered my inside,
Gasping for air, I struggled
It snow, I wore a tee shirt
No boots though, I took the train
Trouble follows me
Outrageous! I scream

Split personalities, alters assembled
At court street, Nevins and Applebee
Each taking turns to maneuvers in the cold breeze

I fought with all my might,
then headed to the voodoo priest
Gibberish sounds he offered
However, not for too long
With some great effort
Conquering we fought the beast

Cyberspace is now a battle space

Keep passwords secret and strong my friends

Of the tired old souls lining the corridors

The Bullock's Heart Trees
Dark n Beautiful Feb 2015
Whenever, February comes around
and if I am still here breathing ,
I must shed a tear
Whenever the coldest month
of the year gets to me
I flashback to 1959 and
the bullock’s heart tree:

My vivid memories might seem a bit strange,
But according to sources, it’s where my Nana
buried my navel string: under the old bullock’s heart tree

The bullock’s heart trees shall forever lived on
So are my memories of that secret place
the sparrows and the blackbirds shall
forever feast upon the ripened fruits it produces

The broad leaves shall shelter the wild doves,
from the tropical sun and rain,
However, how strange my memories might seems
whenever, February arrives and I am still
breathing, I must shed a tear.
because, I am forever blessed ..Happy birthday to me.

My Poem Speaks To You
Dark n Beautiful Feb 2015
If my poem arouses you then I know
I am doing something good
I am the poet,
the narrator of this poem
I write what I feel,
I say what I like
Somehow, I captivate my audience
Who I am, and who you think I am
or what you think of me.
Have no bearings
on this poet's work

Therefore, I am who I am,
without the smearing
I am from this Century
where I am free from *******,
my words spread in a nanosecond,
across the internet,
however, my lip are sealed
my poetic spirit guides me:
until it’s time to orchestra
an forgettable vogon list of  poems
with my unique vernacular

I can take you the mountain top and
Make you believe it’s easy to climb
I can make you reach for the star,
Knowing that it’s unreachable by far

Life has a way of making you fall on your behind
The language I use, it far too complicated
Because I celebrates life with poetry
As well as I loathes it

So what’s your question?
I probably knows the answer
Dark n Beautiful Feb 2015
Because I had loved you before I was thirteen
Because I had loved you throughout my teen
You stole my virginity: you deflowered me
Surely, I have composed and quieted my soul;
Now, I am like a baby about to be weaned

Because I have loved you so much
Because love can make us do and say crazy things.
Now it’s  impossible to love another.
Because I am the dark angel with heart shaped wings
Dark n Beautiful Feb 2015
Come when my heart is full of grief
Because love is confusing, love is a thief
Look into my eyes, my darling

Let us sail that ocean of love that never divides us
We would never, say never because my
beauty isn't all it appears to be,
Look into my eyes, and tell me what you see
It’s the warmth of the hearts,
That ignites the tender spark
So the fire of passionate love may start

Words of love come so easily to you.
However, for us love do not come at all
Love isn't what love songs tell us it is.
It’s not the magical music video, where
boys meet girl and fall deeply in love:

Where heart-shaped balloon arch, decorated the
fire place, as they make love on the white furry
rug in front of that big flaming fireplace:

The heart knows what it wants, and the heart want

A map of love:

I take metro link to work everyday
To witness the short journey of the white death
You could see it on their faces , the look of the dark
mask of Magnanimity, the uneven tones,

The beeping sounds of the feeding tubes,
attachments so faulty, so unethical which
does more harm than good
Where doctors in Denim jeans and white labs coats, says
“There is nothing else we can do"

When I visualize for the joy:  its triggers happier moments
My family outings, the smiles, the laughter and the togetherness
And most of all my Vegas slots game machines
Whatever, it takes for me to make it through the days.
These memories I will always cherish them

I truly missed my younger days,
I want my daughters to experience the joy of life
Before settling for this kind of modern map of love,
at one point in your life you were the life of the party.

Give praises,
With a goodbye kiss
Kissing the wintry weather goodbye

For years I dreamt that God would
find me the perfect man to grow old with
during the coldest part of winter,
a fling for the summer

An educator for spring and fall
Instead he send  Mr. Winter,
he was so cold and bitter
Mr.Summer, he was too hot to trot

Mr. Spring, the man was so unpredictable and moody,
and for the mysterious Mr. Fall
he keeps falling instead of rising.
So this year, I am once again, another lady who sing the blues
My Billie Holiday kind of sweet bitter blues…

Dark and lovely as the African night sky
with as many gifts as there are stars on high.
I am the light that shines in darkness

The lion and the king, the ostrich and the
Silkworms to me are the spirit of life,
As mere mortal men make love tonight
I am composing the perfect poem
with one wicked indulgent on my mind
to make memories that will last forever,
Please surround me with a sphere of
powerful, brilliant white light

When winter is over I will
Give praises to jah
Before i forget, the moaning winds,
the naked branches on the trees
Long hours, crazy commutes
I beg you to give praises with a poem
for little favors with poetry
Let us forget the negativity and negative critters

Dark and lovely as the African night sky
With many gifts as there are stars on high

Tonight, I shall shine,
I am the dark temptress,
driven by winter madness

my curtains stuck to the window frame
A blind man walks alone in the cold on a New York street

A little Morning fog, then blustery winds whistles
Like the Sea Island hurricane, outside my window pane

I saw a squirrel jumped on top of the neighbor’s fence:
Running along the top, in search of its hidden den

While the earth is constantly slowing down

I Want to Write a Poem
Dark n Beautiful Jan 2015
I want to write a poem that creates a chilling atmosphere
While orchestrating sound,
with the feeling of rhythm and blues
I want to write a poem about the unknown poets,
the ones who never lived long enough
to see their work published,
I always look to the unknown poets for inspiration
Especially the poet who wrote
“Live only for today, for tomorrow may never come”
I suppose his tomorrows weren't in the cards
I supposed he had to be a pig farmer
Deep within he knew his pigs was to be tomorrow's bacon

There’s always hope for all kind, of poems to come to light
I want to write a poem about natural beauty, and let the world
Know that it’s alright to go natural, without all the heavy makeup
I just want to write a poem, no one ever thought of writing
And that poem is all about me.

he was a scourge to his sensitive pride.

Today we are in a different country
Our smiles is now upside down
Our laugher is seldom heard,
Between us is the Brooklyn Bridge,
When he uses to look at me
his brown eyes tell his soul

It’s going to be colder outside,
For lovers like us,
He with his flannel pajamas
And I with my heavy pink robe and
fuzzy slippers
it's going to be a lonely winter

Why lay out so many dishes on the table to have dinner
such as tureens, sauceboats, and centerpieces
salad forks, dessert  forks, wine and water glass
Drive-through are essential everything in one bag

Teaching...

“If you would have your son to walk honourably through the world, you must not attempt to clear the stones from his path, but teach him to walk firmly over them - not insist upon leading him by the hand, but let him learn to go alone.”

Weak
Dark n Beautiful Jan 2015
No words, just your eyes,
Your touch, just your smile,
your smell leaves me wanting more
I am weak when I am with you
Intoxicated by the touch of your lips
let this fire burn within for ever
I see not, I hear not
One love, one heartbeat within

We Gave
Dark n Beautiful Jan 2015
We gave because we feel that we must
We gave because we know it’s the right thing to do
We gave because we were corner into giving
We gave from the kindness of our hearts

Giving is not always a fear exchange.
occasionally we get shortchange
Giving is a guilty conscience: you give me something
I have to return the favor. Some givers like to
stay out of the limelight:  that’s me
it’s best way out :  no acceptance speech

No you
“shouldn’t have,
it was so generous of you
You are so kind to think of me".

Giving is like uncut rough diamond,
it never sparkles until it polish
A diamond was believed to protect the wearer from the Devil, as well as the Plague: Quote

Winter

Winter!
Wintrier!
Thy daughter of nature
Why do you hate us so?

You curse the ground with those barren winter months
The tulips bulbs seek shelter deep within the ground
the bird flew south to be in the arms of your brother
Brother Sun and Sister wintrier: the good and the bad

You bend the branches with heavy snow,
so deep, so low
Freezing the river, while muting its rippling sound
The autumn winds shake the ancient towers
As many whispers, no more, no more
Leaving a blind cardinal alone and lost
In the snow

The Sea Refuses No River
Dark n Beautiful Dec 2014
I learn how to hide my feeling well
I know how to play the game
It start with a genuine smile
pearly whites and good body posture
I learn to hide my feeling well

Mother Nature taught me how to
She gave us the warmth of her son
And the scorn of her daughter wintrier
I learn how to hide my feeling well

I learn by going deep within their soul
Like a parasite in the veins:
I go to sleep, wake up and go to their website
and take my abuse slow.

The rivers and sea communication
is all about love and happiness the sea refuses no river
Yet they taught me how to hide my feelings.
You taught us well Mother Nature.

A sudden blow: and he laid still
His dreams and hopes: crush
What have he done:  poker face
He dropped the cheese for the shadow
His life flashed before her eyes:
It's hard without question,  to
see my brothers cry.

It’s so hard to hear the chanting and the weeping
As mothers, friends and total strangers
Come together to fight for justice,
It hard to see and review the audio tapes
As he lay dying:
" I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe".

We've known smoking cigarettes can ****
However, living in America of a different race
is more cancerous than lung cancer

Especially when the verdict always come back
"No conviction, no conviction",
He died of natural causes,
So much trouble up north of the Brooklyn bridge
Cry for justice,   cry for justice.
