Valsa George
Wrapped round in swaddling clothes,
I saw her bright beaming face.
Lying helpless, still in a trance,
I sensed her soft soothing touch.

Warm it was when huddled tight,
Glad it was to be held close,
Pleasure it was to be lifted up,
And Heaven it was to be in her lap.

She took me in her gentle hands,
She fed me with her nourishing milk,
She made me sleep with lullabies sweet,
And kept alert on day and night.

As time slowly glided past,
I grew myself into a tiny tot.
Crawled around in sweeping haste,
Reaching out to all I could touch.

It left my mother so hardly pressed.
She never had even time to sit,
Cut down she, her afternoon nap,
Cast aside she her rest and respite.

My teething time – a real hard time!
For reasons none, I grew so irritable.
Itchy – fidgety, I cried on end,
Futile it went all her tricks to tame.

This made my mother grow jittery.
Consulted she every quack and doc,
Administered she every harmless dope,
And interceded to all divine help.

It was only a passing phase,
With consistent care, I grew to a buxom babe.
My childish pranks delighted all.
Too glad grew my mother to see me fare.

Soon I learnt to steady myself up,
The Toddler placed the first faltering step.
It was always with bated breath,
My mother watched my growing up.

She ever remained a pillar of strength,
In whom I saw a never failing friend.
She led me through the devious turns of life,
Always there to lend her helping hand.

In complex issues too hard to solve
Wise it was to seek her counsel
Sane and sound, she ever remained.
To trials of life, she never surrendered.

She taught me the quintessence of life,
She showed me the route to tread,
Her zest for life, never once cease,
Her trust in God ever on the rise

Now my mother ceases to exist,
But sure she will continue to live,
In my hearts domain, she reigns supreme.
No force on Earth can cast her out.

As I look back to days of yore,
All I wish is to conjure up the past,
To be reborn a second time,
To be my mother’s darling child!
To every child, mother is dear ! But my mother I feel was exceptional in her qualities of love, selfless sacrifice, courage and wisdom. Though from an average background without much education, she was well informed. On this Mother's day, I bow before her sweet memory !

A happy Mother's Day to all great mothers !

Love only in love
Don't love in hatred
or for sport
as if it were a game
to play

Love only in love
it is not a contest
love is not something you win
it is something to have
something to hold

Love only in love
It is not something to -
purchase. Something to own
It is yours
Only when you give it away

Love only in love
Do not waste it
Don't throw it away
or toss it to demons
(Those that attempt to control)

Love only in love
And you will then know
Only love

Did you know that the little ones have thoughts of you still,
and that the littlest one even though she missed you
by only a few weeks.......... her smile you'd of loved.
She does ask about you, asking is she bringing sweets...
I still see you smiling on photos, eternal words in your features
never to fade, they are there still as if you weren't gone.

But Mother, Mum I do miss your laughter original
and unique. You put us all in that well brought up
place. You may have been gone for some time, but
your thoughts and memories are always around
even though I don't hear your voice anymore.
I hear you everyday and know that your love is
still within us all and your memory will always live on.....
4 years and I can still hear her rather unique laugh haha...

Paul Simon wrote of sitting at a railway station,
With a ticket for his destination,
A cool autumn morn, and I’m doing the same,
Penning my thoughts, while awaiting my train.

A nice warm coffee cupped in my hand,
My trusty pen, the poet’s wand,
More travellers arrive, their tickets purchase,
While I just sit, composing verses.

My I-Pod blasts out Thin Lizzy live,
The music helps my poem thrive,
People staring, I'm deep in thought,
Me thinks this poem won’t be short.

The train arrives, of course its late,
So much to do, I cannot wait,
We pass through villages, towns and fields,
The lonely scarecrow, no secrets he yields.

The stunning views sure do amaze,
As we journey on through drizzly haze,
The farmer’s fields and their misty shroud,
As I travel further from maddening crowd.

Through the cloud comes a shaft of light,
Then forms a rainbow, bold and bright,
You see the world with a different view,
Or perhaps not, as we pass through Crewe.

Great, sods law, one working loo,
And yes of course, there’s quite a queue,
I-Pod still belting out the tunes,
As along the track, the train it zooms.

Ahh, now my destination is in sight,
Now a cracking day and drunken night,
A time to catch up with good friends,
And where both Journey, and poem ends.*

A poem penned on the spot that Paul Simon allegedly wrote "Homeward Bound", while waiting for a train myself.  Did the ghosts of the past inspire my words?

There's a galaxy
That swirls in my heart
From one end to the other
To back where you are

Firing off shooting stars
Inside nebula storms
From Venus to Mars
Straight out of this world

Around Saturn's rings
In case I miss anything
Deep in the heart
Of this, my galaxy
If aggravated

frustrated

Turn down

your anger
Switch to the soulful relaxation
and dance

to smooth

waves

Let your mind free

loving

your

body
chilled out
soul

loving

life

We are the chosen pair
of an eternal waltz
to sing and dance
in timeless rhythm
blend in
indivisible togetherness!

Though our feet are not laid
on carpeted floor
and no cheering crowd
to applaud the show,
we keep waltzing
in fervent zeal !

I start to over-think again
When I see things between us
Like in a Tug-Of-War
I feel like
I am out of your world
I am out of place
Like a small ****
In the midst
of beautiful flowers
Out of your world

There will be days when everything goes wrong
There will be days when you cry yourself to sleep
There will be days when you just want to end it all
There will be days when you wish you didn't exist;
When you wish your father or mother or sibling didn't exist
There will be days when you question how you can keep moving on.

But on those days, I want you to remember:
You've survived this long
Why give up when you have made it this far in life?
You may not have lived each day but you have survived
Survive just another day, so that you may live many more.
