The fallen pine needles settle down
To the wind of another Christmas poem,
(sorry)
But it happens every time
I watch the wrapping paper torn away.

The imprint of the bucket
O'erflowing with joy
Is still on the carpet
Where the jewel tree stood proud.

I feel as if my presents were nothing
Because I'm crying at my temporary seat
Too often I've seen
That my loved ones will die.

It's the fire that keeps me going
Because it burns and
Though the logs are destroyed, like us
Their short lives gave incredible warmth.

I look around at
The joy of ruddy faces unwrapping
And I know that they don't care about their gift,
It's the people around them that really make them smile.
Merry Christmas. Ignore what lies beneath the wrapping. Unwrap the heart behind the people who give to you.

~

Fresh the scent of sunshine

in its basking fragrant glow

Painted far horizons

of this beauty that does show

Purest adoration finds

this chilly air so near

The early dew is frozen

on this morning crystal clear

So I pen this simple poem

as the new day comes to meet,

filled with honest thank yous

for your kindness oh so sweet

With Christmas Eve now dawning

there’s a smile that I see,

when I ponder my reflection

for you're all so good to me

Merry Christmas to my HP family

I offer a humble offering, a not very well written song,
on this eve of Xmas, my heartfelt wishes
that Santa Claus visits, each and everyone.

Let me gather you all in the square,
and sing sleigh and jingle bells
while gathering rosy cheeks together
and sing to humanity.

Ole' Saint Nick on his sleigh is around
the corner, remember, when we were three,
how we anticipated.

Let us hope and suspend disbelief,
hear reindeer hoofs on the roof,
for just one Xmas,
again!

You said you wanted to die,
and so a part of me did.
Two souls. One heart.

Tears of sorrow
Is the frosted window
To our darkest desires
And shout the lies

Depression is like a ghost in the snow
It all seems unreal
You have no idea what you're up against
Yet we've seen what they look like

The clock can keep ticking
And whisper the time
We are too ignorant to hear
And too scared to listen

The sun shines on you
And screams your imperfections
Forget about the people who hate you
A smile is the perfect revenge

Despite being recognized in litery circles
As being the worlds greatest  poet
As a man without equal
With both pen and brush
Despite the fact that all other  writers
Are both mediocre and sub Parr

I thought the full English breakfast was wonderful
But oh dear, oh dear
Sub Parr

The Xmas lunch, truly spectacular, turkey golden,
crisp skinned. Vegetables cooked to perfection
Xmas pudding flaming blue
Fresh cream and brandy butter
Log fire warm and bright
But oh dear, oh dear
Mediocre

The best of wines money could buy
Port, cheese platter
10 year old brandy following
But oh dear, oh dear
Sub par
Mediocre
Dreck

Oh oh oh

peeling off labels is like peeling off skin of a 3rd degree sunburn
i hate how it looks
and it's gonna hurt like hell
but i don't want the evidence there
why do i even care so much?

dear society
rip
i am not "anorexic"
tear
i have metabolism issues

the stickiness gums up
i didn't ask for this
shred
i'm not "antisocial"
strip
but i like being alone

stab
i'm not teen angst
hack
i'm growing up
stop telling me
i have problems
scratch
i know i have problems

i'm not canned vegetables
why do you need to know my contents?
pick
i'm not yours to scrutinize
stop staring at my body
stop trying to get into my head

stop slapping **** on me
and expecting me to fit into the little labeled box
i'm not
your labels

Troll be leery, troll beware
Troll we'll find Thee anywhere
In the toilet, neath the stairs
Anywhere Thee's rancor glares

Troll be leery, troll beware
Troll we'll find Thee anywhere
Laughing at Thee's haughty airs,
Boastful  words… but no one cares

Troll be leery, troll beware
Troll we'll find Thee anywhere
Faced with words where talent flares,
Leaves Thee startled, unawares

Troll be leery, troll beware
Troll we'll find Thee anywhere
In Thee prate or in Thee prayers
Be forewarned, our patience wears

born poverty stricken,
she lay her head on no mattress..
still she sung along to mary j. blige, like religious practice..

Stronger with each tear was the motto,
&so; she shed..
Because its hard to have dreams when you don't have a bed..

Its hard to have food for thought when you cant afford bread.
& the local Goodwill is dead..

Her speech was absurdly intact, & well spoken.
you would assume a girl trapped like that, wouldn't be open,
Yet.
Just 14, she showed potential of a graduate, beyond bachelors.
&& in our city record deals are the only time we owned Masters.

beneath those hazel eyes. there lies an old soul,
told,
by her surroundings her future was a pole.
bold,
in her approach, how she stripped away the cold.
now dances in the daisies, dodging Hades, never sold.

&this; is no figment of imagination,
how her eyes hazel pigment,
had the power to judge a nation.

Because she woke up daily, prepared as **** for that math test..
Though she was born poverty stricken, lay her head on no mattress..
