Meera
He doesn't burn photographs
He doesn't join therapy sessions
He doesn't smoke too many cigarettes
Nor he drown himself into alcohol
He scratches his wounds daily
And never let them heal
He doesn't try to get rid of the pain
Instead he let it grow on him
He waters the seed of sorrow with his tears
He feeds it with the manure of old memories
He takes it to sleep with him
And nurtures it in himself
Till the moment when every single drop of his blood gets replaced by this pain
Until his fragile heart can bear no more
And his soul starts overflowing with emotions
That's when he dip his pen into this pain
And empty his heart on a piece of paper
He bares his soul for us to feel
He creates poetry that the world would cherish for centuries to come
That's how true poetry comes into existence

A young girl—
Out too late—
Running through a quiet urban city
searching for the sounds
That have been playing in her head

The radio gives her no help—
Those songs aren’t what she’s looking for
She craves and older more mature sound
The sound that only the dark night possesses

She can almost feel the sound,
It’s strength is almost feeding into her
She takes the bait
And makes her way to the old pub

She’s amazed by the Saxophone
And the blues lifting the air
She lets them fill her mind
And numb her surroundings

“Oh, sounds, why haven’t we met before?”
She cries out.
But the sounds keep playing
And drowning out her thoughts.
She now knows where she belongs.

I said to my grandma “I love those saxophone blues” and this poem came to life.

And what do I serve with tea?

Of a cake layered with words - a slice
A croissant with stirring smilies
Quiche with quaint archaic spice -
Fresh from a poet's repository.

In the clink and chime of quills and ***
And spoons that stir the brew of tea
Dark or creamed, winter or spring
Here's to a cup of poetry.

walk with me
your hand in my palms
was more than a passionate stride
which oriented my path like a pendulum
i learned how to walk with my eyes closed
with your heart defining our itinerary in hindsight
found myself moon dancing to the tempo of your heartbeat
something was not right
she felt a very deep chasm
and ceased walking
i opened my eyes, saw a constellation in a crystal palace
Aisha we're lost
she closed her eyes, i held her close
like a mother to her baby

scared of what her soul breeds, gave her an ataraxy
i kissed her forehead and left a passion mark on her neck
as she opened her eyes to a valley of love
silent sigh
The Love Religion...

Heavy heart,
Blurry eyes,
Pounding head,
Waiting for it to be over.
Pain is everywhere,
I can’t stand.
I crawl into my room
And fall into a deep slumber.
Woken up
Feeling refreshed.
Apologies from last night,
And I accept,
For I don’t want the pain again.
Even if it’s inevitable,
The horrible cause
Stands there taunting me
Waiting for me to succumb
To it’s dark allure.
I finally break.
It numbs the pain
But now I’m like THEM,
A monster in disguise.
I tried to copy my friends writing style, but mine got through a bit at the end. Anyways, I hope you like this, thanks for reading.
Try to guess what the mystery substance is.  You don't have to though.

A rose
Growing out of your heart
Red and lovely
Slowly entwined with my rose
White and pure
But then
Yous started turning
black
Dripping poison
Thorns appear
My heart started cracking
Turning grey from the inside
My rose no longer white
But blue black
Your rose stated to wilt
I tried anything I could
To push you away
But no matter what
There was still one little thorn
Left within
My slowly wilting heart

I explain my metaphors with metaphors
I don't know how else to express
My thoughts that sit in clutter drawers
And leave my mind a mess

If you don't understand my comparison
I'll just say it in a different way
My thoughts still shielded by a garrison
Suppressing things I need to say
