Today is truly all we have
This took a long time to learn
Make the most of the day ahead
Look for excitement around every turn

Make the most of every moment
Send positive vibes at every chance
Sing from the top of your lungs
Get up from your seat and dance

Smile often, laugh even more
Give a compliment, hold open a door

We may be only here for today
Let’s live a good life and do it God’s way!
If I were to be a day of the week,
I would be a Tuesday

Not a Monday, bright and yellow
Understanding that today “there be dragons here”
and we must be Ready to conquer, ready to claim,
ready to fight

Not Wednesday, Orange and steady
Containing a consistency that reminds us
we can make it, we will make it

And not the vibrant green Thursday
Full of promise, anticipation
And the hope of what’s to come

But nor am I the explosive Friday
Dark, and passionate, dedicated
To the thrill and fervor of life

Or a Silver Saturday
Slick and slippery with the idea
Of adventure but that holds no guarantees

Yet still I cannot be Sunday
Muted Gold with warm mornings
and laid back afternoons but always
With the lingering remembrance of tomorrow

No, I am Tuesday

I am faded red
I am the waiting day
The looked over bridge of
What’s now, what’s next
Stuck forever in some delicate limbo

I am the stepping stone
The illusive day floating in and out
Behind the scenes, behind the week
I am tuesday

The sun is rising
Above the clouds
Slowly it comes
Waking up the crowds

What would we do
Without its magical light
The world would be dark
No sparkling daylight

I can’t imagine a world without sun
I don’t believe I’m the only one
The winter comes and gray covers the sky
Enough to make me break down and cry

I need the sun
Like the air I breathe
It’s one of the things both my mind and body needs

Depressing is a day
Without the sun
Everything is black
Dark and glum

I will praise the sun
In all its glory
Appreciate its beauty
And end this story

I wish I wish
Upon a star
I had a magic cookie jar

Inside the jar would contain
Peace and love and happiness
No war, no crime and no more pain

I’d open the jar and let the rays out
To cross the earth, flutter all about

Touch everyone and everything
From the smallest grain of sand
to the Majestic Eagle’s wing

Until I find that special jar, I’ll bend down on one knee
And pray for that day
When all our troubles go away

What a wonderful world it would be
When I close my eyes, this is the world I see

For the child born today,
Will there be seasons
To play in leaves,
Build in snow,
Smell flowers grow?
Swim in fresh water?
Will wars end,
Friends make amends,
Will we finally stop the slaughter?
Will there be clean air
And rich soil?
Will there be moments
Free from turmoil?
I sit at peace, and wonder
If this child may be the answer.
Well, writing's better than pacing.

there's a big dark smudge
where your heart has bled
rubbin'out stains with my eraserhead
puttin' in what I want instead
I ignore the scarlet,  rusty red
don't want it soakin'
my daily bread
innocent people
in whiteness wed
I forget all that I've read
all is fine... don't count the dead

can't see the jungle for the trees
we're all dyin' by degrees
we slowly boil... we slowly freeze
we sail in boats
that chug and wheeze
just go on... life's mysteries
are too much for our minds to seize

could you pass another paper please?

we are all in our little bitty boats
afraid taking another problem
aboard will capsize us

we don't realize at times
THIS IS THE PROBLEM!

Sequestered stream flows tranquil
It’s journey from an unknown origin
Traveling through varied landscapes
Carrying stories from lands afar
Listen to faint murmur with keen ears
Narrates the stories from its chronicle
You, an unknown traveler, alone
Waiting by its side to drink from the stream
To quench the thirst that’s within
The contradictions and distractions
Casualties of the unrelenting world
Finally, your steps have led to this stream
It flows, in spite of the challenges
Cuts through every hurdle with resolve
The messenger carries stories and life
Breathing life with its tranquil presence
Drink from the stream, replenish your resolve
Think not of the hurdles and distractions
You are to flow through this life
Carrying the anecdotes and memories
Be like the stream, and rejuvenate every life

who would be worthy to be able to speak in the face of your poetry
and your life is poetry and your life in all its fullness is sacred
Sacred before all crime and sacred with all crime a poem unique
there is no ending and no beginning where love rules supreme
where the fragility and puniness of Mankind stops brothers loving
love still rules supreme.

Pecking through rubble
Picking remnants
Clearing spaces
Planting new
Breathing fresh air
Opening a path through
Memory and Remorse
To Peace.
Working on this one....

His hands are scarred,
Face is a mess,
Too long walking
Through the wilderness.
The bears are hungry
Wolves they howl,
The Levy's breaking
All will
Drowns.
Washed away by savage currents
Watching fallen suns go
Down.

If you were a poet,
would your words be bitter?
There is as if
from deep within the sorrow
is heard an echo

*it's not the end of way.
