Solaces
I had long thought of it.  The last night here on Earth.  Tonight is the night that the comet is suppose to hit the Pacific ocean.  There had been ads running all over tv, the internet, radio, and on the streets.  The slogan was simple.  " How are you going to spend your last night alive."   On the other side of the Planet the slogan was opposite.     " How are you going to spend your last day alive."

I decide to spend it with you.  I set up a mattress outside in my backyard and we lay in it and count the stars.  We talk and we talk about the dreams we had last night. We cry together, we laugh together.  We then fall asleep.  This is how I wanted it to be.  Swift and fast while we slept and held each other.  I dreamt of seeing the next morning and waking up with her.  We look to the clear blue sky and smile.  But am I dreaming?  Is this real. Did the world end.  I cannot seem to wake up.
Was it a dream

Mist embraces the lake as light gently
opens the world to my gaze, I behold
the majestic wanting's of vison that
captures my thoughts and feeling.

My hands clasped upon my chin as
dragonflies dance around the waters
edge and all is serene. I view the
surrounding as my gaze widens.

Vapours eclipse into oblivion and
everything is now seen. I sit upon
my terrace and take everything in.

Pink caress
Your lips

To kiss
Upon mine.

I wrote this after drinking Isla Negra wine and playing 'Pink Moon' by Nick Drake, softly in the background whilst also watching the supermoon eclipse, tonight, turn a subtle pink!

darkened eyes, a loss of sparkle
hardened by the starkest heart
marvel at the harmful parcel
imparted scars starting to part

discarded stars, embarking targets
barred from the starving art
pardoned by departing darkness
that was ardent from the start

(in a crescendo poem, the vowel sound you are working with must build up to a peak in intensity(crescendo), by increasing that vowel sound with each line, then gradually decreasing in the second stanza. for example, here i use /ar/ sounds...2 in first line, 3 in second and third lines, and 4 in the fourth line...then in second stanza, use same count backwards, like 4 in first line, 3 in second and third lines, and two in the last line...it can have a scheme of 1-2-3-4, then 4-3-2-1 or whatever, as long as it gradually reaches a peak(crescendo), and then gradually decreases. both stanzas must match in the amount of vowel sounds used)
this is about, and for all of the dark poets...the ones who are willing to write down the things that no one wants to talk about...you still shine!

Summer flowers, all the tiny petals
are colored stars falling to the river
floating in a watery heaven
sailing far beyond this day
into nothingness
into everything seen
like blood red petals
that mingle with
autumn's moon
I beg you
don't leave the sky

when dark clouds billow in the south
the weary winged hurry home

overhead on the dead blue
jupiter and venus are born anew

the wind slows to silence
trees loom night's shadowy ghost

nocturnal birds sing on their new day
you feel your breath as they fall

the clouds spread across the sky
cracked by the lightning

a drop lands on your stretched palm
soothes all the burns in you

you melt in love
by the torrents falling from above.

don't leave for shelter
I beg you
when heaven arrives here.

I played the game, alone.
I talk to the air,
Imagining a friend who isn’t there.
My brain’s dual thinking.

- Checkmate -

Personification in strike
Persona’s colliding stake

- Stalemate -

Hello there my stuffed friend
Looks like we are a matched.
We’re Latched,
Encased in the four corners of our walls.
You know I feel restless looking at your frozen face.
Playing with stillness is a hollowed void.
Engross with my ever changing fantasy.
Choosing to ignore reality.
A sad case of my mortality.

- Workmate -

Music patched the necessary unattached realm.
Stories powered the desires to dream the unchallenged dream.
Life is a walking daydream.

- Lostmate -

There are those would think I am coward
And then I box myself not to move forward.
I fear what lurks behind someone’s soul,
Fearing I am not worthy of my own coal.
A charade of personas, hiding.
Tilting the crowd as if I am never there, post acting.

- Soulmate -

Believing you are near,
somewhere far behind that unseen chamber door.

- Castmate -

Sometimes I am just tired of this game.
Whispers of the wind, believing I am tamed.
Sometimes all I need is a real friend
That will hug-out the negative trend
For me to transcend
To the realistic perspective
Waking the sleeping life’s motive.

Oh Girleen, leave that dark, ****-covered rock

And watch no more the waves white-capped with foam

Nor listen to their sighs; they only mock

Your lonely sorrowed heart; now come back home.

I don’t watch each wave that sweeps and falls,

I don’t heed the sobbing of the sea –

I’m listening for my own true lover’s call

There, can you hear now? He’s calling me….

Ah Girleen, sure it’s only the wild, wild wind,

A-wailing o’er the waters its sad song;

Put all these thoughts of him far from your mind-

To our own good god alone, the dead belong.

Ye lie, he’s mine, for from the grey sea-mist.

Yesterday evening when the sun sunk low

He came and took me in his arms and kissed my mouth

Just like he used to, long ago.

And so, I’ll not go home, but here I’ll stay

For maybe, in the smoky gloamin’ dim,

He’ll come again out o’er the showers o’ spray

And take me o’er the ragin’ seas with him.
Note: this is an old Ulster-Scots song which was collected in the book ‘The Ulster Folk’ by Padric Gregory (London 1912).

I was missing mom when her favorite little bird flew by...so I drew the hummingbird and wrote this haiku.

I canst not thanketh thee enough, for assuaging mine pang's
On earth, in heaven, on the dwarf planet's, in thy kiss of leaven;
When thou art down, I'll taketh thine frown, when broken, when hopeless, I shalt giveth thee mine own gladness; lifting thy smile.

ii.

In cities, in town's, aloft the skies, on the ground, in the open, in the wild, cadmium yellow floret's, mine Asian child, in thy eye's;
In thy laugh, passed the noise, of hellish mess, passed the pain's, madness and stress; I shalt always be by thy waistside, mine pet.

iii.

In ourn life, and beyond ourn death's, we shalt meeteth at the place of holiness, tis not a place sculpted by hand's of men;
Tis a place of dominion's and kingdom's. Inside God's house wherein we shalt be in peace, the angel's shalt singeth, halo sleep.
