humid rainy day
frogs hop and splash in the rain
their skin quench their  thirst.

Frogs absorb water through their skin and do not  drink.

Come take
your mind
on down
with me .

let our bodies
be canvases
to the tributes
of our
lives.

leave
our old stories
like tattered
and worn
baggages

by the
door.

be each
others
savior for
awhile.

a old lover's
lament.

not trying
to fill in
each other's
water color
dreams,

with lies
or half
obligated
promises.

and finally
when the
late afternoon

comes to
swallow our
worn
innocence.

close the
door.

leave unsaid
the words
that must
be said.

return us
both with
some dignity

to the outskirts

of our lives.

She drew happy faces all over my arms.
She drew smiley faces over my scars.
She showed me with ink and blue marks,
the answer is a pen, not a blade, to make art.
based on what happened today.

I put it on, everyday.
I tried not to make mistakes.
Even though it’s full of cracks,
I still sit up and put on my act.
And though no one ever wants to ask,
I still get up.
And put on My Mask.

I want to take you out
at 11 pm
until the stars fade away,
and only ‘til then.
I wish you and I could leave right now.
