I cannot even
Begin to tell you how much
I've missed our friendship.
February 19, 2017.
I recently contacted a friend I haven't spoken to in a long time, and we ended up talking until 2am last night. I've missed him and his friendship so much, and I honestly hope I don't lose him again.

I was watching her
really watching her
wondering how she could be so destructive
changing herself
changing me
changing the world around her
without

a

single

sound.
Can't sleep.
Why are we all just living to die
when we all should be dying to live?
Some call me a saint,
others call me a hellion,
but at some point revolution
must progress to rebellion.
You and I walked down the road
as lonely hearted friends
to find the way that leads to love
on the path where friendship ends.

We've always been desperate to share
the feelings never spoken out loud,
but our perfect sky is always filled
with the reluctance of broken clouds.

If the time had come for us to decide
which path would you choose?
Would you still just be feeling lost
or just too afraid to lose?
As I walk the streets of this old town
footsteps of the past are retraced;
though I look upon it with brand new eyes
every place still has your face.

The wind will always carry your voice,
words echoing on the breeze,
like whispers in the gathering dark
between the cemetery trees.

Fragmented memories of a tortured past
are just riddles without clues.
Haunted are these same old streets
by the apparitions of you.
Happiness, the evasive Lover of Man
Never wanting to commit
Always dancing out of reach
With enough charm to make you chase her
She teases and tempts
Seduces and beckons
Promises and smiles
But remains her own force
Unyielding to those desiring to claim her
Some brand her a myth
Others an urban legend
But those of who have seen her face
Will forever bask in the memory
Hoping to one day reclaim its vision
The splendor of her beauty
Our unattainable hope.
Hoping to find you again, Happiness, one day.
