in Honor of my father**

He was born in Isle La Monte
In nineteen twenty six
Son of a plot farmer
The soil to plant and mix

He was a good student
A good lad as a rule
In the winter he would trek
Twelve miles to go to school

An IQ test was given
I will not debate
My father came in second
For the record of the state!

He did achieve much excellence
I think you will agree
He paid his own way
To go to MIT

He served his country loyally
He was a navel man
Was ranked at RT-4
On a LST landing craft

He manned the radio towers
And handed up the shells
The Kamakazi dove to ****
In Okinawa's hell...

He is a faithful husband
And a father who's bar none
If my father'd been on the other side
I believe they would have won!

Now he's on the Dream Flight
To Washington DC
And I tell you that his daughter

Is as proud as proud can be!!!
The Dream Flight is for WWII vets
Who would ordinarily never be able
To afford to visit the Washington Memorial of WWII... it is an all expenses paid flight and hotel then a magnificent ceremony at the Memorial. My brother will be standing by his 90 year old
Father throughout everything...
Which is heroic in itself as my dad is almost stone deaf and in a wheelchair. He will need some assistance!!!

THIS IS HISTORY IN THE MAKING!

I AM SO PROUD OF MY FATHER
(in case you hadn't guessed)

Thanks for welcoming me back to Hello Poetry... you are wonderful friends.

I have been going through some things visceral. But feeling better every day. The cup is half full, yes??

----!
Whispers and tangled limbs have never felt this electric.
You pull me in, and I feel your lips brushing my earlobe
I tell you I know what you're going to say,
expecting the same joke you usually make
You ask me if I'm positive I know what you're going to say
I assure you I am, and feel your arm wrap around my shoulder,
letting your warmth envelope me
Then I feel the unexpected words
Slip from your lips and collide with my emotions
Brushing against my ear in harmony with your lips
"I'm not sure you realize how beautiful you really are."
well, this is working out well.

you toss my feelings back and forth like a tennis ball.
It was so asinine to think you cared at all.
you make it out like you wanna meight, but end up stealing
my heart, which isn't condusev in my healing.
You make me six. With me, you didn't have a rival.
I used to think you were necessary for my surfivel.
therefour, from here on, I won't allow you to crush me,
no more threel seeing my reaction when you touch me.
I don't understand people who just get together
to make you think you won and blow you off like a feather.
I half had enough and this topic's not moot,
I have zeroed in on my target and i am ready to shoot.

CommonStory
A picture is worth a thousand words

Or so they come to say

But that smile in the photograph

I come to know as fake

I close my eyes and imagine it

The you it tends to hides

My decision to envision it

Makes me ache from side to side

What if the photograph

So delicate and quant

Showed what you really are

If only something faint

Would it change your at outlook on things

Or would it be the same

Because the photo is just a photo

A lie upon a frame

The truth behind a photograph

What is there really all to hide

we are products of our pasts
creators of our futures
and maybe that's why they say that history repeats itself.
love is like an ocean it covers lots of ground
something that is shared and goes all around

flows so very gently to each and every shore
something that is there that you cant ignore.

it goes around the world just like love should do
going round and round just like the love in you
