We need to be advocates
For what we feel and believe
More than for what we hear
And question.
Insight sometimes can dominate any form of convincing speech.

Do nothing
Feel nothing
Be nothing
Then we can never get hurt
No chances taken
No risks weighed
And absolutely nothing gained
But nothing lost
All the same

family

i want to wish you all a happy june

whether you're in the closet,
or fully out and about,
or somewhere in the blurry middle,

know that you are loved
and i am proud of every single one of you

i am proud to say that i share a community
with so many beautiful, diverse, amazing people

i am proud of the strides we have made
and the people striving to make even more

this month,
just like every month,
i am proud of all of us

and i suppose,
that's what pride is all about
your body is an instrument I mastered eons ago, when the stars were young.
it is you I have, and shall always yearn to play.

at my touch, you open up to me; lines of familiar notes upon my fingertips.

together, we harmoniously orchestrate the ethereal music of our souls: a sonata of infinite synchronicity.
the symphonies we conduct originate from the stardust of our souls.

God has blessed many with
the gift of sight in this
path we call life,
a gift that we
take for
granted

~ β™‘ ~
Along the way, I've been
blessed to meet the
special few who
truly have
vision

~ β™‘ ~
I did not have the pleasure
to meet her in person
But I can feel her
gaze in all that
she's written

~ β™‘ ~
There never goes a day
when her page
is unwritten

~ β™‘ ~
As she waves her hand
and thoughtfully
sews her
words

~ β™‘ ~
For I feel that she adds
a piece of her
golden
soul

~ β™‘ ~
There is a kindness in her
that all can detect,
a trait that this
world sorely
lacks

~ β™‘ ~
And for that, she will always
have my respect

This one for you, Kim.
I thank you for sharing your pages,
yours dreams
and your dreams within your dreams
This one is long overdue and dedicated to Kim Johanna Baker,
an eloquent poet who bears her soul on
HelloPoetry.

I know it isn't much, but I'm wishing happiness, blessings
and love your way.
I will keep you in my prayers.

(For those who don't already, do look her up and follow her page.
You'll see what I mean!)

Be back soon,

DIRECTIONS

I’m heading West
(where ever that is) .

I march off into the distance
of field & sky.

West is where
my uncle is.

I cut through
the heat haze.

My uncle’s dinner
wrapped up in a scarf on the end of a stick

as if I am
running away into forever.

Tea slops in an old milk bottle
with a piece of cloth as a stopper.

I stare into the empty air
as if suddenly I will discover there

a sign saying:
β€œWest – this way! ”

My Auntie Nellie’s instructions
still stamped on the inside of my stupid skull.

β€œGo west into the field
with your Uncle Michael’s dinner.

β€œTell him. . .”

Me too terrified to tell her
I don’t know
where West is?

Typical townie!

I search the farm field by field
β€˜till I finally find him

sprouting out of a field
with a cloud attached to his head

beside the broken rickety gate
where the tiniest ever wild strawberries grow.

So this is where West is!

Why didn’t she say so in the first place!
This I know!

Why send me like a fool on a child’s errand!

My uncle devours everything β€˜cept
the scarf & the stick.

Tells me
(β€œOh no! ”)

to go South to where Uncle Seanie is

and. . .

stop apologizing
stop apologizing for being yourself
stop apologizing for being sad sometimes
stop apologizing for the way you look
or act
or talk
or kiss
so look at me
up
blue to blue
and tell me you're not sorry.
not sorry for who you are
unapologetic in your beauty where hair falls on shoulders
next to a freckled face that resembles my vision of true art
you
you are what happens when the moon rises above the horizon
pushing and pulling the tides
like heart strings
mine stings at your absence.
the moon is not sorry.
it simply is
as you should be.
fractured during times but pieced together in the sky when together with the sun
it mimes to us
without words moving the planet ever so slightly
lightly kiss me under it
and stop
breathe.
stop apologizing.
be who you are.
bold, beautiful, smart, ****, cheeky, funny, loving, warm
these words and more, in my own mental dictionary have your face plastered permanently next to them
and so i understand these words not by definition
but by example.
but by you.
