I don't know if it's
you or the Heineken but
My heart's on fire

hey you
we haven't really talked
in a while
which is funny because
i've memorized every inch of your profile
the softness of your deep eyes
that you hate so much
that i sometimes hate too
lately i just feel so far away from you
pull and tug
tug and pull
why won't you just let me
make your heart full?

on and off as we are, you're the only one i'll ever want. stupid loyal for you bby.

it's hard knowing that
i'll wake up tomorrow
wanting the day to end

Another April poem.  Am I obsessed, or is it April that is the catalyst?
Tinkling rhythms engulfed us
As we sat in a cuban bistro,
Surrounded by the populace
And having nary a place to go.

We spoke of many things
That curried the other's favor,
Then I noticed her silver rings
And decided I'd wait no later.

This stranger that sat before me,
Blue curls atop her pretty head,
Observed my hand steadily
As it dropped off the table's end.

I reached into my bag and withdrew a rock,
It's complexion of gold and plaque shining silver.
Her reaction was that of pleasant shock
As I wished her congrats on turning a year older.

Now, a year and some days later,
We've both reached a special place.
Day to day I get to face her
And feel my lover's warm embrace.

just a glimpse
into what happy could be
in someone’s arms
is enough to have me floating
for weeks.
the reality is,
what goes up must come down,
and I come down
every time
crashing.
written after my first break up inspired by one of my mother’s poems, she too is a hopeless romantic, I think its hereditary.

"Women like you!" - he spat.
And in those three words,
flowed the venom which drowned
everything else. ..

Sometimes
I want to spin
Myself into a
Hurricane
Just to
Feel
The
Calm
In
The
Eye
Because without the storm, how would you know what calm is?
