It became more and more
obvious
There was a storm inside her

growing ever stronger

and she sought
to terminate it
before it was too late

It's arguably more difficult to
terminate such storms
when you're fifteen
and still living with your parents

so she decided not to
share her struggle
with them
and reached inside her
for the eye of the storm
with a steel wire she'd kept in
a bottle of hand sanitizer for a day
and a night

Yes, the first raindrops painted the
white of the bathtub

they were crimson
and salty

like her tears

I am not my story
the narrator past
obviously his suffering
was never mean to last

no one bullied me
they helped me forged a man
into a lover of life
a healer of the land

I have no regrets
no blame to invest
I’d actually like to thank
the universe for this test

we didn’t come from our parents
we were only passing through
I’d like to thank them both
for the hell that they once knew

I am not a story
trapped within a book
I am a poet
the past is what it took!

~
The arithmetic of murky waters
Is not so clear

Neither are my chances of survival

Here is me
Face down in urgent sea

My wave
My grave
My gateway, perhaps

Whatever the consequence
Suffering is the new salvation

It all adds up
Sum how?
Sum way?

And if I was your ship
Destined to flounder
In the wide open drink

You'd re-enter the equation
And find a way to pull me through

Just so we could once more
Make the hurting count

”If you are to love,
love freely and unburdened
by the tombstones
of past miscalculated regrets.”

But the heart
inadvertently beats
to the mismatched rhythms
of a hundred
caged doves’ wings.

I think that enough time has passed
  enough rain fallen
  enough memories swallowed
  enough pottery shattered and remade.

I think it is time to write again.

My name is Anne
It happens too much
I get sad and confused
I don't want to make a fuss
I've been hit and bruised
I've been touched
I have been used
For another's rut
It's ok to be sad
It can feel like too much
People have hurt me
I am enough
And you at enough too. Thank you for being you.

My Dear Poet
Tonight
I will not be sleeping
till I write the words
that are keeping
me awake

Tonight
I’ll make the most
of a late night evening
and by the morning
waiting
for you to wake

Tonight
Who’d have thought
I’ll be weeping
while you’re dreaming
words too late

Tonight
while gone
I keep writing
alone and grieving
words I wish I wrote
and now reaping
your fate

It's all trial and error;
weighing heavy on
the latter.
When I feel like this,
I want to build an
exit machine;
walk through it to
a different life.
Too many irons in
the fire, I'm burned
beyond recognition.
The situation unfolds
like it always does,
I fall down, and
then get back up.
But I'm tired, and sometimes
the ground is comfortable,
and way too familiar.
Check me out on bandlab, it's a music studio where I've been able to produce some of my poems and put them to a musical backdrop.
I've also done some poetic songwriting, Thomas W case on band lab. Thank you all very much. https://www.bandlab.com/thomaswcase
This will get you to my bandlab page sorry for the confusion
