I tell the night my secrets
And make love to the moon
I write letters to the stars
In the hopes they make it to you

The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.

To finish your own life by hand,
May seem like the right thing to do.
But to free yourself from this land,
Is to imprison those that love you.

The place where reality and hope cross paths

Laziness waits around the bend,
Always ready to be your friend,
Be careful if with him you meet,
He’s not a nice person to greet.
For he’ll remove your zeal and drive,
And destroy all your aims in life.

Dear me,
Don't just sit
Rise, and pursue greatness.

Don't just watch
Go after what you want.

Don't just exist
Strive and start living.

Don't just dream
Work hard and aim for success.

Don't get tired
Keep hiking until you get to the peak.

Sometimes one needs to be alone-
To look at oneself and
Listen to the soft murmurings of the mind
Regarding what to do, where to go.

Sometimes one needs to be alone-
To cleanse the mind
Of memories, impressions,
And to start afresh.

Sometimes one needs to be alone-
To be in the company of one's own self
And draw strength from whithin
To face anything and everything.

Sometimes one needs to be alone-
To be free of the mask we all wear,
To  reacquaint with self
And to face life and death.
