All your best relief efforts will, to your surprise, save me.

But you seem to think at excommunicating me will help.

Did abandoning the Titanic as it sunk beneath the glassy, ice ridden waves save many lives?

Does leaving a lonely girl alone help her overcome her constant state of isolation?

I'm not asking for a life raft, a canoe, or a power boat.

All I'm asking for is your hand.

She's the twilight sea.
Waves inch close just to flee far
Slip right through your hands...
My first attempt at haiku.

You're over there and I'm over here
Separated like the night sky from the day
We go round and around following and fleeing
A desire of a union meant to be withheld

The gentle glow of your spirit and the warmth of your beauty makes you more desirable than the sun
The rays of my heart and the enchantment of my love makes me more desirable than the moon

Onwards we chase one another throughout all of time
Seasons of rain and growth pass to golden leaves and snow
All the while the stars fall asleep and we continue to run
The Kraken

by Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Below the thunders of the upper deep;
Far far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides; above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumber'd and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge seaworms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

I don't think I've ever longed to taste something
-someone-

or feel the brush of a light feathery touch
across my skin

more than now
...her...

Magic was in the wind today
for from its drone on my windowpane,
I caught a call,
I knew the tone
and thought I heard your voice again.

Murmurs were in the wind's low moan
for in its whisper toward my pillow,
I heard you talk,
I felt you near
and I lost the dread of being alone.

Mystic the tune in today's brisk wind
for by its song my grief rescinded,
I knew the lilt,
I had you here
and what I heard my heart believed.

I'm back in the valley
where the screens have fallen out the windows
now and
the cicadas
sing like a choir
and you're their God

I've resigned to loving
you,
             endlessly

There is a word

There is a word

More powerful than any other...

Mythologised,

Romanticized,

Deified.

Men would fast for it,

Fight for it,

Live for it,

Die for it,

In hopes it could be passed

From one generation to the next.

Religions have been founded on it.

Countries went to war for it.

Way before Tolkien devised one ring to rule them all

There was a word,

Whispered and screamed.

The word was peace.

All I ask

Is don't tell me

Show me.
