It's the burst lip
slowly healed with tongues
softly
aching
warm as the sun

It's the grinning tooth
making incisions
sharp
through the heart
of its chosen victim

It's the once empty mouth
compelled to devour
the words in-between
the speaking in vowels

It's the voice that calls
before it's too late
the one
you always tell to wait
what's it to you?

Broadsky
a cigarette tastes good after this drink, but I know at some point through the night I’m going to look at myself as tears fall in the bathroom sink.
If all my tears were collected I’d be swimming in an ocean by now.

LL
there is a void in
his shape within me — and there
are these spaces he
left wide open — places that
I have not learned to close yet
You make me itch
Like a wound half healed
I scratch and pick.
Sideling up to you,
trying to sneak back into love
I almost do.
keyword I
not you.
You make me itch
Now look I'm bleeding again.
Seven minutes in heaven
A game kids use to play
I got my turn one warm summer day
It was meant as a joke
Just kids being mean
Sweet Susie Cooper
When I was only thirteen
I felt sorry for her, locked in a closet with me
The geek, the dork, full of anxiety
Six long minutes together
Alone in the dark
Then from out of nowhere I felt a spark
Just before the door opened
Sweet Susie, She kissed me
And broke my heart

Thanks.
Making love in the afternoon underneath a blue sky, that's free,
That's you and me baby.
Kissing your fair skin, every freckle on your face.
You taste like sunshine, strawberry wine, and ***.
You smell like wildflowers and sweat.
You wreck my senses, break my defenses.
I am lost in the clouds in your eyes.
Making love under a blue sky.
That's free, that's you and me baby.
Absolutely free.
Just you and me.

If I knew then
What I know now
Would every new decision
Lead to the same place somehow?

I of Africa, Africa for i
Are my ancestor, my future generation
My grandfather, my grandmother
My father , my mother
My brother, my sister
My nephew, my niece
My uncle, my aunt
My cousin, my neighbour
My son, my daughter
My root, my stem
My spirituality , my beliefs
Are the air i breathe,
Are the water i drink,
Are the food i eat,
My seasons, my memories
My happiness, my love
My experience, my wisdom
Africa you are me and i, you

Hiding in my own gaze,
Dreading to meet yours.
Wondering what hurts more,
Hiding, or being Found?
I just want to belong somewhere. Is that too much to ask?
