O! the lives I've wasted
The lives I could have led
If different paths I'd taken
And different people I'd met.

O! what friends were lost
When just around the corner they lay
Their voices heard but their faces
   hidden
O! why had Destiny to steer me this
   way.

                              II

With my life here in my hands
My impulsive moves and slow
   meanderings
My efforts regulated by my will to
   abstain
In gaining my present position
What have I lost elsewhere
And what have others lost
Because of my absence there.
No, I haven't killed anyone, this is about regrets and what ifs, a bit of existential angst

Have so many days passed
since those shining lights were to
iris pressed, or have I just
covered my eyes?

Every man speaks of time
and how fast it flies
but I believe that it
gets off a hard day of work,
barges in the door,
founds its spot on the couch
and then collapses
with a gentle sigh.

As the sun comes up,
I realize I’ve been wasting away night after night
And I’ve done it all with a nonchalant air about me and a smirk plastered onto my **** face.
I’ve been wasting the gift that is my life.
I’ve had every opportune moment to put an end to my dilly-dalliances
And yet I have ignored each of these many signs in favor of bringing about my own downfall. Might as well bring out the corks because I’ve practically celebrated–whooped and cheered!–as I’ve run the course of life through each tattered obstacle
Bumping and falling like a drunk performance artist trying to make a buck at the county fair.

Full Circle…by Jessie 2/05

To wake up and not have you there

Is to be without you

A day without you is a day unfulfilled

And an unfulfilled day is a wasted day

A wasted day is a waste of time

And a waste of time is time lost

Lost time, is time never existing

If time never existed

Then nothing exists

If nothing exists

There is no purpose

So you see… I need you close to me so there is a purpose to exist and so I can spend my time not wasting the day.

We were caught
In a torrential downpour
Running for cover
I bolted for the door
When you finally appeared
I turned to my left
To see you standing there
Clothes drenched
Hand running through
Your short blond hair
Water rolling down your neck
And all I wanted
Was to kiss
The Cheshire grin
Spread mile wide
Right off your lips.
Missed opportunity
