Our talks of the sunset
Were poems themselves
i still think of us
Aer Jul 2020
as the final rays of sunlight disappear over the horizon
I look up to see my silhouette flush against the wall,
the dull colors accenting my lonesome shadow.
with eyes closed, I attempt to forget
how you intertwined my fingers with yours,
and how your breath danced against mine
under the low-dipping summer haze.
and with the same chapped lips
that uttered the words "goodbye"
you told me, gently,
"I love you."
silhouettes in summer nights.

every colour the sun paints while bidding goodbye leaves you smiling even wider for what you'll witness after is not dark but hope in shapes of a few bling bling

You are my sun,
so keep setting only to rise back to me in the morning.

Sunsets are alluring
And so is idea of watching it with you
And you

what I love about sunsets is their decisions on a whim

.

A beautiful moment without you is a moment wasted.
A sunset without you is a twilight wasted.

I went on a date and all I could think about was how wrong it felt. You not being there with me sitting on the sand with an ombre blue sky above us. You not sitting close to me while we talk deeply about the things we care for. How wrong it felt being with someone who is not you. So wrong of you not being there.

.
at least you are present in my heart & mind

"are you
still in love
with me?"

asked the moon
with tears
flowing down
her cheeks

"i am afraid
that i
no longer am."

answered him
as he vanished
from the sky

the setting sun
leaving the world dark
leaving the moon behind
i hope that we find that love that never leaves.
