In a hollow off the main road
sits a village that time forgot
Where things flow, a little slow
and peace of mind need not be bought

The main street beckons all to see
how life ebbed and flowed in the past
Where smiles abound, the happy sound
of a life not metered nor fast

There you'll find the town Silversmith
making jewelry in a forge
The coffeehouse, echos of Strauss
a trodden path out to the gorge

It is home to the Glen Helen
part of a thousand acre woods
Steering the helm, coin of the realm
are the fruits of the craftsman's goods

There by the Antioch College
we spent a good deal of our youth
Climbing the trees, skinning our knees
among beauty we knew as truth

You might just see children playing
Hide and Seek throughout the street
Where "all yee all yee in come free"
sings of a melody so sweet

So should you find that your bones ache
from the pains of life you endure
Take a stroll, over the knoll
to the little town with the cure

What can I say about this village but it is heaven on earth? Here you will think you went back to the 60s. The art fairs and galleries are accented by the ancient architecture. Home to Antioch College and the Glen Helen it echos back to a simpler time. You won't find Target or Walmart. You will see and meet the local artisans. Perhaps you will even find a music festival out on main street. You will never want to leave. For here is where memories and dreams were made and still live.

You've made the waves move
and time too
Replacing the rivers with springs
Where sweetness flows through evergreen
Not perfect no, but just close
Trees with shade, and shadows
I think of the life in the water around me
Not the danger of drowning
Diving into what was once murky
Not crystal clear, but just close
Blunt, abrupt, your waves surround me
But I can still resurface
Diving into what was once murky,
I can see the life around me.
There may be times when swimming is trivial
But with calm waters I may float
And if I sink, I’ll swim a little farther down
To feel the life around me, and to look up at the surface
If this freedom does not last, and the rivers turn to ebony
I will have the memory, of all your waves,
And the timeless shades and shadows of the three springs.

Every evening I sit on the banks of the Old Man
Withdrawing the gurgles and churns
And applying it as salve to my soul.

I meditate on the modernistic monolith
Perched on the banks of the coulees.
A castle made of sand, so to speak;
A house of learning; fiat lux~medicine rock.
The name isn't important, its role is.
The binder in the masonry is metaphor that I use to
Bind me to my duty on this plane of existence.

I am a miniscule piece of an eternal pie.
Still, my actions are important.
Every choice I make sends a signal back to the pie
Reminding It of its essence.
It is not apple or cherry or pizza, even
The eternal pie that we are all a piece of is Love

Those castles I spoke of earlier
Are continuously flowing
Back into the love
From whence they came.

Why the duality?
Why not just stay in the spirit world and commune with Love?

2 reasons
1. Our souls need to grow: for growth we take to the physical, mental, and spiritual plane

2. Love is imperfect: the definition needs further unraveling

Just your presence by my side
Warms me in the
freezing winter

A thought of yours ..
Brings the springs
where new hope blossoms

Burning moments of our separation
makes my heart feels the
sweltering summer

And I am still hoping the for day when
you will bring down the
thundering monsoon on me
