It could be a ruffle
or the rigorous hustle,
the meow of a kitten
or the tap from the kitchen.
It could be a pretty girl
wearing a beautiful pearl.
It could be the neighbors
doing summer labors.
It could be the noise from the machine
or the sound from a car's engine.
It could be the sound of something
or the combination of everything!

It could be some notification
or sudden commotion.
Maybe an abrupt interruption
or some communication.
It could be the cry of a baby
or a telephone call from a lady.
It could be the sound of an aircraft
or the noise from a hovercraft.
If could be the loud voice of your father
or the noise from your little brother.
It could be the call from your mother
Or the scream of your little sister.
No matter the kind of distraction,
It always briefly gets our attention.

Distractions are in coexistence with life
Graff1980 Dec 2017
Peace is the still waters
of space and time
that no longer
ripple in my mind,
sweet stillness.

But your boulder
bounces from
the bottom up,
splashing and splattering
all that brain
that matters to me.
Till, I am unable to think clearly.

Peace is a pleasant memory,
a space where I find
a specific a place or time,
and revisit them
when I close my eyes.

However,
your heavy presence
shifts the soil
which these memories
sit in,
and their sediment
is swept away
by the currents you create
when you intrude
upon my day.

Peace is detachment
from toxic connections,
but my heart can’t
release them
when they keep returning.

Like a newborn
I am stimulated
By whatever is near

Discombobulated
Things become unfathomable
I’m unable to grasp
My surroundings

What is near and
What is far?

Distractions flow
Like tattered streamers
Waving from a
Parade float heading
To the junkyard

With blurs all around
Life becomes like
Circular bands of light
Emanating from streetlights
Along a foggy riverside highway

Whenever lucidness invades
Life seems simple,
And I realize
it is simple

All that is required
Is to traverse
Layer upon layer
Of  events and missions
Difficult to accomplish
Is life complicated or simple or a combination of the two?

Please Stop, put on brakes
I don't know how to answer...

Please Stop, pause the moment
Life won't go on forever...

PLEASE STOP! Let me take it in...
Spare me your time...

Please Stop, I need a minute to breathe
Be patient. This Era is harder to climb

Please Stop...

Please Go... Your wearing me out
My heart can't take this pace

Please Go... Your burning me up
These ashes are leaving a trace

PLEASE GO! Your making holes!
In my heart! You are so cruel!

Please Go... It's hurting me so
My body has become a blood pool

Please Go...

Please Come! My eyes long to see thee
I don't desire to live alone

Please Come! I don't know who you are
I'm not suppose to bare these burdens on my own

PLEASE COME! Join me in this world
To do the work of Christ, and reach out to those who are lost

Please Come! I don't care where we go!
I wanna serve the Lord with you no matter the cost

Please Come...

Please Stay! My last breath is in your hand!
My final second can come with your words

Please Stay! You have forgiven my Betrayal
An Eternal future? This indeed I've heard

PLEASE STAY!!! My time on Earth is for serving You!
I'll cut off every limb! And break every decree!

Please Stay! For if there was no you...
There is no tomorrow, nor any hope of being set free!

Please Stay...

Who are these Letters To? Read Below and You will soon know.

Please Stop...
Please Go...
Please Come...
Please Stay...

I beg you...

I saw the clouds
In the moonlit night,
Dark and flimsy
Moonlight shining through.

They looked so sad,
Engulfed in the dark sky.
Taking form
Of the whispering monsters:
My slumbering nightmares,
Quitely growling in my mind.

They were mourning
The death of daylight,
As the moon roared bright;
Soaring through the sky
To meet my eyes.

My vision raged through the sky,
All the way home, seeking rest;
Yet the clouds, forgotten,
Stayed unmoving
Still, high up in the sky;
Like their dead kin
In hushed smoking rooms,
Stuck and stranded;
Held prisoner
To the silent endless black.
In sad, starving human minds...

A new age is arising,
a new page is unfolding,
and there's always been a spark,
now it's time to make your mark.

It's all about action! No distractions anymore!

In the kindness of your heart,
in the yearning of your soul,
tragedy is bound, to always take it's toll.

But it's all about actions, no distractions anymore!
Picking up the pieces after a natural disaster.

I haul myself into the colors I mix,
Ochre Yellow, Windsor Yellow, Windsor Red,
And for then, I'm not concerned with my concernments,
Instead
I just,
Forget.

I type name after name into an Excel sheet,
Nina, Alexa, Nathaniel, Joe,
It's mind-numbing, I know,
Although,
I just,
Let go.

I read 60 pages in an hour,
A page passes with a minute,
And within none of those I was sad, I did it,
I admit,
I just,
Submit.
