Breathe through the numbers
Cease through the smoke
Drink another liquor
Or chug another canned coke

An immature irrational being
Turned 18 this year
Don't you dare go clubbing
Just sleep off all your fears

You are growing old
Should let all the insecurities go
Hope you become brave and bold
Fly high and soar like an arrow!

I don't know if this makes sense, wrote it randomly kanina. But anyway, happy birthday!
Happy 18th Birthday!

Your eyes they travel
in my road of poetry.
They meander toward heart
as rivers of verse anchor.

Your eyes are a gift
crystal and grand.
They are the window
to align voice to sing
and ears to hear.

Your eyes will launch
you the reader into day
to flow in your greatness.

To flow as your meant to.
As I celebrate
you in the place of your lives.
To all who sit at my table of verse thanks

for my mind to
write something for you
is for the flowers
to feed nectar to birds,

and your presence and
ears are the vessels
so my seeds are
sown in the ground.

Hello, you, who
reads poems like
a musician clefs.
Basses, so bold and italic.
Half-notes, half-thoughts,
succinct and seemingly
purposeful.

Poetry, is the shelf
on which my thoughts
gather.
Vessels with which
I slice across my head,
and sprinkle stars
here and there.

Mother, father, you, I.
People whom I have
not yet met but have
greeted with my words.

Hello,
here are some words for you.

A poem, to a good day.

Each year
We get a little older
Some might say
"More mature"
"More grown"
"Bigger"
But that's not it
We celebrate so much now
This day seems normal
The biggest day of our lives
Our Birthdays
Seem normal
We party to much
and care too little
We celebrate
getting closer to death
almost meeting death
and finally
meeting death
So much celebration for one day
Today's my birthday so as I thought about the meaning of birthdays I came up with this, sorry its a bit sloppy but its a quick free write. Hope ya'll enjoy it!
I long for the days when
Ignorance was bliss
And
Innocence was kind

Waking up on birthdays
Used to feel full of magic
And special
Like that day
Was mine for the taking

Now
Everyday is the same
Dull and boring
Boring and dull
My birthday was two days ago and even I forgot...
Dear Indigo Night,

The stars enchant me
While a band recants
An old tune that swings
On their porch of wood.

Tonight's cool grass
Contrasts the meteor shower up above
As we sit in a circle laughing
And having a grand time.

We pass around candles,
Singing along and praising each other,
While our woes turn to mists
That flutter away
Up into the night sky.

Moon of moons
And stars of decadence,
Take us away so that we may dance together,
Forever,
As space and time fade to dust.

Sparklers and orange bloom
flowers that only shine at night
and wake in the dawn with light and furious colour
like the fourth of July, crackling steak on metal
smoke and seeping juices, screaming meat
rare, just as you like it, on this, our independence day
(everybody cheer) or was it the eleventh?
I forget such things now and then
surely, it's the eleventh for them over there, playing in the sandpit
and the eleventh hour, no less. Tell me
       did you see the game?
