Check the mirror
And see for yourself
The image you see
Maybe different from ours

You may see scars
But we see beauty
You may notice the indifferences
But we can’t t deny the perfect curves

You might have appreciated the beauty of others
But how we wish you see the angle from ours
Though sometimes you wish to have their features
Know that we certainly wish we had some of yours!
To the people who wish they were someone else, know that others wish they were like you, too.

I made this poem for a friend who always think that she have gotten too fat or that she may not look good on pictures and was too hesitant to have her photo taken because of her own depiction of herself.... but in reality, she’s actually, really really  gorgeous! She just doesn’t realize that.

You are here so close to me
Sitting next, but No I can't see
I thought about us a lot
We were in the same boat
Lots of promises and expectations
Now only lessons and self evaluations
But no regrets yet
Such wonderful time we had
Present is not the right time for us
You are far shinier and way brighter
I am rusted and need an understanding
Re-polish myself and fix my wings
And one-day, God, maybe one-day
Could you give me one more chance to look at you and say
Within you there is something very very true
God, the most beautiful person I know is you.

you
you touch my world so delicately
and i love it that you do
all we have is gentle
and i love that about you too

you listen so attentively
care for my heart so blue
talk to me so kindly
in everything you do

friends that found such passion
a tiny seed that grew
you make everything so easy
easy to love you

i hug you tight throughout the night
especially when i'm blue
while you bring comfort to my life
i love you through and through

with the kindest heart i know
you take me away with you
for us this feels so beautiful
i hope you feel it too

I don't know exactly who you are,
or what is the reason behind your scar.
You're not a person whom others think is a saint,
but I can see that something in you is quaint.

The way your eyes look are strange,
it can make some people's mood change.
You see yourself as a distressing person,
but you don't mind and still carryon.

You hide your wounds by pretending you're fool.
Sometimes you think your "**** side" is cool.
I can see that you are hardening your heart,
from Someone who can give you a beautiful art.

Behind every negative things about you,
and the things you are going through,
is a person who's needing an attention,
someone you can share your deepest emotion.

I hope people see, what I see in you,
by the way you look you've given me a clue.
There is always something good in someone,
even when his good deeds are unseen and undone.

My heart is hoping for the best thing to happen,
that someday you will surrender your burdens,
because even when people think you're *******,
I still believe something's beautiful in you.

This is you,
Its about you, how you adorned a veil
And hid beneath it all your life.
When the deepest of your thoughts,
Turned and gave their evil smile,
All you could think was how much
In the dark, you could be who you are.
And looking at the mirror
All you could see were the scars.
The despair in your voice
Sadly no one bothered to give you a hand.
You'd pluck at yourself all day and night
Thinking what you see is all that there is to what you are...

This is me, myself and I
This soul behind the skin, no longer has a voice, a heart
An undertone, I choose to hide in the dark
This mirror lies, but I can't see through that
Clawing at the surface, stabbing at the fresh wounds,
Letting the blood flow, maybe slash and burn
There should be something behind this disgrace
This face, no perfection, no longer a sight
The curves of my mouth always turned down
And my eyes can't see past the tears...

This is all just me,
Its about me, how I see myself
In the mirror, in someone else's eyes
How I close mine, not even dare to look
*At the demon that stares back.
Recently came across a documentary about BDD, Body Dismorphic Disorder, a psychological condition characterized by the person excessively obsessing about how they look, sometimes to the extremes of self mutilating themselves.  Often mistook as vanity, these people have a very hard time accepting what they look like.
This is written from an angle a person with the disorder, would write. Of course, the point of why I'm writing this, is to tell you, that YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL. Really. INSIDE, OUT.
Sadness is when
You see someone beautiful
But they don't see it
They hate the body God made
They run from themselves.

Sadness is when
The world is full of beauty
But they don't notice
The earth is singing God's praise
And only the earth.

Sadness is when
I try to be someone good
With my own niceness
But I don't depend on God
To help me, and fail.

Sadness is when
I try to impress others
By the way I dress
Or by the makeup I hate
When they love me now.

Peace, it is when
I want to tell of heaven
But I have not words
They only scratch the surface
And I'm unworthy.
