**** fake relationships
And these stupid shallow flings.
I miss having something real.
I miss having you.

Your voice still locked
In the echoes of my broken
Guitar strings.

Your name still locked
Echoing in the back
Of my head.

My siblings
Still ask why you
Left

And I'm still stuck
Asking the same
She'll dance like there's no tomorrow
She'll sing like there's no today
One smile from her
You'll watch your past fade away
Cause she doesn't need to be loved
Her spirit was independent from the start
But she does need to be supported
Someone to break down the walls around her heart
Some days she'll be the ray of sunshine
You always need on a cloudy day
Other days she'll be the storm itself
She'll scream or lock herself away
When she does that remember to check on her
For she burns so bright she might burn out
But don't push her until she finds her peace again
Or she might throw paint at you and shout
She's a treasure chest full of secrets
You'll unlock more of her every day
The hardest thing is to gain her trust
You have to show her you're going to stay
Love her like you're her anchor
She goes through a storm everyday you see
Inspire her like you're her wings
All she wanted in life was to feel free
Most of all when the sun sets
And she tells you she's ready to sleep
Don't believe her for a second
That's when her demons come out from the deep
You see, she guards her heart
Like she guards her soul
She can't express love
Even if it makes her whole
Hold her close
And hold her steady
One step at a time
Until she's ready
She's been broken too many times
I write this cause I'm aware
I'm one of the ones who built her up
Just to take away her flare
Don't waste your time staring at the stars, with her you'll have your own fiery universe
girl with moonshine in  her eyes
she danced around wildly
letting the wind catch her feet

She kissed him softly
whispering sweet nothing
in his ears, courage from alcohol

she got out of his car
drunkenly happy
no there were no promise made

she walked into her room
crying her make up off
on her desk, an unopened bottle of moonshine.
 Jan 2018 yellow-thoughts
nanda
the night is made
to say things we never meant
we intoxicate our bodies
transform it on its true self

i think it is funny
how when the sun is up
we walk around praising our life
caring for what the world thinks
pretending to be what we are not
putting on masks
so thick that you could never
ever tell they are fakes

but then the sun goes down
and shine its true light
on the moon
poisoning our veins
luring our hearts
to beat faster
and sing the truth out loud
making us confess
what we would later deny with light
the regrets of the night
SMILE

Smile
That's the key
A smile can save a life
If you're lucky
two or three

You might see
A person on the street
Head down
Shoulders slouched
Earphones in
Music loud

They're frowning
You smile
It's addictive
They smile

It gives us hope,
A smile from a stranger,
To know
some people still care
Because deep down
we all know

No one cares anymore.

Poetry
to me
is taking
my pain
and making
it sing.
I don't regret you
But I wish I could forget you
