I need incentive to write
To think
To imagine
Living a happy life
I need a heart
A replacement
To the misery
You planted with your knife
I need my time
To be back
Without struggles
When we fight
I need air
To breath
To feel my lungs
Exhaling you out
I need light
To see
To spot you
Leaving my sight
I need ears
To hear
To despise
The lies you weaved so tight
I need my mind
To forget
The promises you say
Then **** over night
I need incentive to write
To warn others
To tell innocents
How all this was never right

My heart yearns for a glare
In which the glimmer of the stars
Are framed by the cages of our irises
Where the rays of constellations
Are trapped in the void of our eyes
I wish to share my soul with yours

I want our glare
To pierce through the fabric of time
I wish for our eyes to lock before our lips touch
I want to feel your arms wrapped around my neck
As we share the warmth of our embrace
I want our universes to collide
As you press your lips against mine

I wish for you to be mine
"But that's all that ever was
Just another wish"
These are not
petals unfolding
and I am not light
but a daydream
drifting

These are not
lips savoring
and I am not night
but the darkness
awakening

These are
reddened skies
and I am but the dawn
a woman
breaking
REPOST
When I receive messages within minutes of posting, from two poets on HP I admire and respect, inquiring about the break in format on the last stanza, I know that I haven't been as clear as I could have been.  I love getting the loves, but your discerning eyes are the true gold here. Thank you so much to David Adamson and PoetryJournal for taking the time to ask for clarity.  I love the discussion!  Hope the change makes all the difference...

She is a gypsy queen
My queen
Who sees sadness in my eyes
And falls in love
She is on the road
And in the stars
Hanging over me as clouds
Shining over me as suns
She is a gypsy queen
Belladonna
A femme fatale fatally stricken
And falling further
She lives by her own rules
And in her dreams
Where our bodies intertwine
And in our hearts

We both know
We know it well
Nothing last forever
Not even pain

I wondered if she could love
But I know she does
Even love that is ending
Never dies
She fell in love
With the sadness in my eyes
And broke her own rules
To see me smile

I sometimes wonder
where are we, overtime?

I sometimes wonder
why today doesn't just rhyme?

I sometimes wonder
when's the time for this to fly?

I sometimes wonder
who would be there on the line?

I sometimes wonder
what's in it that makes me stay?

I sometimes wonder
how possible is it to go away?

I sometimes wonder
would it really be this worth-keeping?

I sometimes wonder
can we both be ones worth-loving?

I sometimes wonder
about these thoughts 'til it's midnight

I sometimes wonder
about us and will this turn right

I sometimes wonder
if you wonder 'bout them too

I sometimes wonder
if this love could save us two.
With these thoughts, I think about you, too.
I am an American.
Proud to be called one.
When the flag goes by
Chills still creep over me.
Even after seventy plus years.

Many have died
Defending her name.
Defending the rights
Given by The Bill of Rights.
Freedom is definitely not free.

I ask my grandson when he was four
"What does that flag
hanging on the wall mean?"
He replied "Freedom".

Many have died
When stupid politicians
Ran the wars against us
Not the Generals who had the knowledge.

Eight years ago I remember clearly
someone we all know say;
"For the first time in my life
I am really proud of my country. "
Very disturbing words
I shall never forget.

Let us honor those who
have gone on before us.
Let us never forget
what we have and still stand for.
Let us stand and be counted.

For Freedom. Liberty. And much more.

My heart is heavy as we sit idlely by
watching all slip down the drain.
When you live in this country you abide by the laws of this country.
Never demand of America to accept your laws that violate American law.

Music, Oh mysterious sprite!
Lift us to the seamless realms of delight
Your ubiquitous presence we feel;
In the hum of crickets
In the silence of the stars
In the falling cataracts
In the running streams
You are there in the lone sea breakers
And under the swift wings of the wind

Come as subtle vibes to saturate our being,
Winding your way through every sinew
Enfold us in your rapturous hold,
Raising our souls to the magic of rhapsody
      Paint intangible pictures in silence,
Creating a sensation beyond the reach of words
Let our souls savor the taste of ecstasy,
Daubing myriad hues on all ugly stains
Land us in the sequestered pools of oases,
As the blistering sands leave burns on our souls

Oh Music! Come and fill me
Soak me from foot to crown
Like a falling drizzle
Like a caressing soft wind
Like a marauding sensation
Drown me
In the subaqueous quietude of the sea
Levitating me through ether
And lifting me up onto the borders of heaven!
They walk by brisk
Covered in umbrellas
On high heels with ankles
Of no appeal

They grab the shaft
With both hands
As the wind tries to steal
Their umbrage

With agility
They skip over puddles
As I marvel
At the procession

With destined determination
They ****** on
As spiked high heels
Grapple on cobblestone

Rainy day women
In gray coats and wet umbrellas
Under overcast skies
With no hellos or goodbyes
In the crowd I saw someone
All in a haze, so filmy
Nothing did I see clearly
But a pair of love lit eyes
Riveted on me
My heart skipped a beat
Did my face grow pale?
Or got colored by a blush?
I lowered my eyes
And looked away

But I saw him advancing
Coming straight to me

      My heart began to race
My breath got hitched
My lips went dry and parched
I didn’t hear what he asked
Words got stuck in my throat
When they came
They came out broken and raspy
I felt as if struck
By congenital paralysis
Unable to move my ****** muscles
Either to utter a word
Or curve my lips into a smile!

      Felt butterflies in my stomach
A tremor took over my hands and legs
Beads of sweat appeared on my brow
My mind went blank
The world came to a sudden halt
Forgot where I was
I got frozen in time

Not knowing the futility of adolescent yearning
For long, I juggled with his unspoken words
“I    L….O….V…..E   you!
