Thrown back a melenia, learning to crawl and take those first steps once again.
Thrown into the darkest corners in my mind, made to confront those fears.
Vulnerability, an understatement.
You could never imagine the cool slime like shield that surrounds my form.
Once a bubble,
A haven,
Clean & pure now burst torn & ripped into a million little pieces making it impossible to put back together again.
I weep for my inner child,
Those demons & torment haunting me.
My dreams what once were, now will never be.

It's not who you are or who you know,

What you wear or where you go.

It's not your friends or family,

Its words on a page,

In this community.

The words we use can settle scores

or open doors.

So hear a heartfelt plea from me,

Let's stop the wars and do poetry.
And she became
like a cold
cup of coffee
Gone was
her warmth
only her
bitter taste
remains.

Random acts of poetry
Seem to come a lot to me.
No apologies issue from me
Because that is how it is meant to be.
We are suffering today
From a disease called hypocrisy.
And it is the basest enemy
Of freedom in democracy.
It substitutes a dollar amount
For lives and souls and hope
And tantalizes the population
With TV, ***** and dope.

By the time the population
Wakes up and catches on
A new batch of crooks exist
The old got rich, moved on.
Every campaign promise
They will fail to deliver.
They will lie to your face
And sell you down the river.

Our women are widows
Our children are orphans
The churches want money
For larger pipe organs.
They wring their hands
Subject abortion to scorn
But, abandon them to penury
As soon as they are born.

They say they want nobody
To receive free ride Medicare
Then freely give corporations
Un-needed trillions in welfare.
The chant against big government
Is a perennial marching tune.
They’ll decide the kind of ***,
And have control over wombs,

The world is a place today
Where the dollar comes first
And the children of the poor
Are usually treated the worst.
We are suffering today
From a disease called hypocrisy.
And it is the basest enemy
Of freedom in democracy.

I wonder
How you managed
To slip so easily
Into my heart.
In a matter of days, minutes, seconds,
Who knows?
My head tells me,
"Are you blind?"
My heart tells me,
*"I've never seen the world more clearly."
Aaaaand this is the third poem I've written on the same topic. Whoops.

Like most days
I spent my time pondering
Life
Today.
And I thought...
In the end,
When all is
Said and done,
Will I have
Said
More than I have
*Done?
Just a thought that crossed my mind.
