We Were in a Dream
Juno Aug 2019
Something about you
Felt different then.
I realize and know now
It was only in a dream.

I passed by you
The other day.
I didn’t know
That we were in a dream.

You came to me
And I knew you
Somehow, I’d seen you, but
It was only in a dream.

You were the best part,
At least while it lasted.
But I must move on, for
You were only in a dream.

Little Things
Juno Jul 2019
Little drops of water,
   Little grains of sand,
Make the mighty ocean
   And the pleasant land.

Thus the little minutes,
   Humble though they be,
Make the mighty ages
   Of eternity.

Our Forgotten Fairytale
Juno Feb 2020
We were our own fairytale,
But not one you would read.
Sure, we were quite happy
But my heart will always bleed.

“You’re perfect together”
Everyone would say then,
But on the deep inside
I knew we had to end.

We’d walk home in sadness;
My hand would be in yours
We knew I’d have to leave
This place that we called ours.

Now I’m gone for good
No one truly knows why
But we do, and I’m glad
That I got to be your life.

Goodbye
Juno Dec 2019
I know we will have to say goodbye soon.
The day creeps closer, to take me away from you.
How can I stop it? I don’t want to part.
How can I do this without breaking my heart?

You left me there crying
Screaming your name.
But you just ignored me.
Are you insane?

Strange
Juno Dec 2019
I think it’s strange
How you can just
Fall asleep
Like nothing’s out to get you.

I lie awake
For many hours
Wondering
If there are other people like this too.

Tick.
I wake up.
Tock.
I get through the day.

Tick.
One day less.
Tock.
Till the day I pay.

Tick.
Feeling nervous.
Tock.
Today’s the day.

The Writing Process
Juno Feb 2020
I write what I want
When I feel like it.
It’s not planned at all
It just happens.

The words seem to flow;
They surround me.
Yet sometimes I can’t
Write at all.

i’m sure i almost cried
Juno Dec 2019
I’m sure I almost cried
Tears of happiness
When I heard that you’d be visiting.

I never thought we’d meet
Again for a few years
And now I’ll see you in summer.

Every Time
Juno Dec 2019
The air smells familiar
I don’t know from where.
But every time I pass by your house
Every time I sit at your desk
Every time I use your pens
I catch this scent
That makes me cry.
Why?

Wait.

It smells like you used to.

I Wake
Juno Dec 2019
I wake
To snow and the cold
Winter chill

I wake
Up without you for
The first time but still

I wake
At least
I’m alive for now

I wake
And try
To enjoy myself

What I Want to See
Juno May 2019
When you look into my eyes
What do you see?
A broken girl with nothing left,
Or perhaps even something happy?

When I look at other people,
I see broken dreams and ripped up hopes,
Trapped minds
Bound by ropes.

I want to see
Dreams made and hopes fixed
Free minds
And endless bliss.

But only you can help me.
Will you help me reach my goal?

No.
Juno Dec 2019
No.
I forced you to go
You told me no
Still I said so
And now off you go.

No.

You wanted to
You said I love you
And our love was true
But now the door is painted blue.
