You are an
Earthquake,
Powerful and sudden.
No one
Saw you coming,
Certainly not I.
You came
Quickly
And tore me apart,
Into many
Different people.
All hurt and broken,
But one never like
The others.
And now,
We all wander around,
Trying to find out
Who we really are.
Writing is safer,
Somehow,
Because my pen cannot
Stutter like my lips do and
Words will be
Trapped in throats,
Not fingertips.
Talking to you is rather difficult
And probably an art form.
But across these lined pages,
I can say everything I never have:
I love you.
If I was a Princess,
Locked high in a tower, counting that stars in the sky,

Would you be my Brave Knight and rescue me?

If I was a Beautiful Mermaid
And I was captured by pirates, soon to be a prisoner to man forever,

Would you help me plan my escape?

If I was cursed
By the darkest of witches to be a hideous beast for my life,

Would you help me find my cure?

If I was lost and alone,
Surrounded by a shadowed forest and howling creatures,

Would you come and guide me to safety?

If I needed you, where would you be?
I have tried to write about you before.
Poetry and letters and such.
Complete novels, if you will.
But for some reason
Far beyond my knowledge,
I cannot quite
Get
The
Words
Down.
I suppose that jotting out someone’s
Wonderful-ness
In blotched ink and messy letters is a
Rather difficult thing to do.
Perhaps I don’t know enough words
Or maybe, I know too many.
Maybe I don’t know the right ones?
But I promise this:
One day,
I will write the most wonderful
Poem or letter or complete novel
And it will be
Absolutely lovely.
After all,
It is about you…
You are a little bit strange.
Loud with beautiful green eyes
And a wide smile.
You’re almost always
Off in your own little world,
Dreaming of grand adventures and
daring romances.
Little did I know, you are also
A thief.
You stole my heart
With your wide eyes and wild stories;
You hide it Far Away.
And when I asked you,
In a quiet voice,
“Why did you steal my heart?”
Your eyes became bright
And you’re smile wide
And you said
“Because you started it.”
