Reads as of today

I wrote of Orion
And silly sleigh rides
Wrote about hometowns
And passionate nights

****** damnable wars
And narcissistic politicians
Wrote sorrowful elegies
Extolled the human condition

Offered odes to loved ones
And critiqued the powerful
Celebrated the splendor of nature
And children most wonderful

Honked loud about jazz
And hot improvisation
Poked fun at the MoMA
Held deep blue introspection

We got many more reads
Than actual likes
I’m growing concerned
That I have more dislikes

But here is one more
Silly trite poem
I hope you like it
You can read it at home

Thanks for all your support….

The words on the paper flow endlessly
a cycle of dying and
living and
breathing and
choking
with pepper sprinkled in for
good measure

great is the depth of the
sea
that infinite battlefield where the
war never ends
the fishes themselves with not a moment of sleep
carry life as a trophy
we once called their land home
but
now it's a place where the world goes
to drown its sorrows

Sunset roses
falling on sky green horizons
the thickest winds couldn't
wash away the sins
of our fathers
yet,
the world has everything
well in its place
and what will be
will be
no matter our stance
on the issue
the presentation of the universe
remains the same

Don't act
like you love me
when my face
turns
for half a millisecond
I hear thick
whispers
chanting, the
darkest curses tossed
at my name
these lovely ears of mine
these beautiful sound nets
capture
your dark melodies
fine,
just fine thank you
Don't act
like you love me
We all experience it so whatever dude. Still, it's fun to write about

RISING SUN  RISE UP THE SKY,
BE LIKE A RISING SUN AND BRIGHT IN THE  WORLD,
BRIGHT YOUR HEART WITH  NEW  WISHES,

WAKE UP FROM YOUR DEEDS,
WAKE UP FROM YOUR SINS,
WAKE UP FROM YOUR OLD ROUTINE,

BREAK UP  YOUR BAD HABITS,
BREAK UP YOUR WEAK MINDS,
BREAK UP  YOUR EVIL THOUGHTS,

DRY UP  YOUR CHEATING SKILLS,
DRY UP YOUR BETRAYING HABITS,
DRY UP YOUR TRECHEROUS  MIND,
DRY UP YOUR HATING SKILLS.

The angel of love was upon me
And Lord I felt so small
The legs beneath me weakened
And I began to crawl
Confused and contented
I slithered around
With feelings beyond me
I was lost, I was found

The angel of love was upon me
And Lord I felt so weak
I felt my tongue move in my mouth
And I began to speak
A strange kind of language
I don't understand
A babbling fountain
I couldn't have planned

Oh leave me here forevermore
I've found the peace I've been searching for

The angel of love was upon me
And Lord I felt so high
I swear I could have reached up
Placed my hands upon the sky
A radiant rainbow was following me around
With elevated senses I could see and taste sound

The angel of love was upon me
And Lord I felt so clean
Like a preacher on Sunday
My heart was serene
I waded into the water
I was bathed, I was drowned
Like all sinners before me
I knelt down on the ground

Oh leave me here forevermore
I've found the peace I've been searching for
Oh let me sleep forevermore
I've found the peace I've been searching for
Perhaps if I listen to it for 101st time and post the lyrics I will stop having to listen to it

Better than a speech of a thousand vain words is
one thoughtful word which brings peace to the mind.
Better than a poem of a thousand vain verses is
one thoughtful line which brings peace to the mind.
Better than a hundred poems of vain stanzas is one
word of the dharma that brings peace to the mind.
Verses 100-102 from the Dhammapada as translated by Eknath Easwaran.

He  stays  with  us  in  winter  storms
And  when  the  garden's  bleak
He  hops  around  in  sleet  and  hail
Appearing  pale  and  weak.

But  once  the  days  begin  to  lengthen
And  the  worst  of  winter's  gone
He  perches  high  up  in  a  tree
And  begins  his  joyful  song.

When worldly time for me has ceased,
No more to breath God's air,
Lay me to rest in Nature's palm,
In solemn, silent prayer.

Scatter my ashes in a leafy place,
Where I can rest content,
Where creatures wail my eulogy,
And birds sing my lament.

To sleep with folded wild flowers,
Beneath lush woodland trees,
And wake with yawning blossoms,
Stirred by the morning bees.

Fling my dust where fairies dance,
Lit by a moonlight beam,
Along the track that I oft' strolled,
In earshot of the stream.

Within the throb of Nature's pulse,
As I close o'er life's pages,
Sheltered from the Summer sun,
And safe from Winter's rages.

'Tis there that I shall be at home,
My earthly toils remiss,
Forever facing wondrous skies,
In pure eternal bliss.

Ticking clocks
And marching ants
Alligator skin
Crocodile tears
And wings of angels
Different angles
Many alleys
All my allies
Lay down their arms
At my command

If only forever
Satin skin and living pleasure
These words you speak
Intonations said by me
If I find a way

Lost hours
My way in days
Turtle dove
Carrier pigeon
Battleship
And submarines
Submereged in color
Aquamarine
Sight unseen
Is my belief

And if only light will shine
Bright enough to make me blind
I'll find my way by feeling

I feel you
You are the language written on my soul
