Oh eyes will you see the beauty in front of me
Oh ears will you hear the laughter of family and friends
Oh tongue will you taste all sorts of delicacies
Oh mind will you perceive all I need to learn
Oh feet will you walk as if in another's shoes
Oh from one another we learn so much in life
I am going in for eye surgery today and was thinking and this poem came out. I am having Cataract surgery.
I learn more about the importance of guarding my heart every time I open it. I am far too naive and hopeful, I love too easily and I am too quick to believe things people say to me. I see the best in people and even though I allow myself to see people’s true colors, I become blind to how dark the shades get. I am the grand optimist, because I lay on the dirt in the dark where people leave me and all I can look at is the stars. I am tired of being used to fill a void, because I am whole. I am a full moon, and every man I encounter is my phase; slowly, piece by piece I disappear, until I enclose entirely into the shadows. Today is another new moon.

The distant source of light
Brings out the shadow of you-
A Reflection of you
Following you everywhere
A replica of your inner self
Brought out by the light
Which embodies the soul
They ****** us in;
King and country,
Christ Almighty
And the rest.
Patriotism,
Democracy,
Honor—
Words and phrases,
They either ******* or killed us.

Tryst
Sunken eyes mourned
The death of another,

Parched tongue warmed
By the birth of his brother.

I fall quite seldom, nowadays.
It's hard to love,
     when it's been stolen away.
Like the hands of time
     that rotate indefinitely.
I'll come back to you, my darling,
     next time, eternally.
Girl in white,
Soon you will dream,
I’ll try not to scream,
As you go, into the light.
You’ll smile and say,
Now is the day,
We’ll go far away,
With our hands clasped so tight.

I hope the sun decides to shine
Through the drifting blinds,
And the warmth will flow
from your eyes to mine.
The butterflies will mirror
How your soul takes flight,
As you ride that tall ship into the light.

The perfume,
It won’t fade
As your last song,
Is made,
Your flowers will be laid
On the earth, damply fresh.
The stars will shine,
and we’ll drink red wine,
Your favourite lines, forever
Etched, into our minds.

The moths will be tied
To your dress just outside,
It’s a message to the world,
The most sublime of signs.
The ocean will whisper
Secrets, throughout the night
I’ll keep your candle burning, always bright.

The books that we read, lying out on your bed
Not a tear I’ll shed
As the words, spin around,
Buried deep in my heart.
In them I’ll try to see
Why death is free,
You didn’t seem scared to me
When the wind echoed
‘depart’.

Your hair was intertwined
As the petals aligned,
A golden sweet glow,
From your toes to your spine.
I’ll sit here in the silence
I know I am in your sight
And when time takes me to you, I’ll alight.
