Flames behind me
the smoke blinds me
the fall in front of me
don't wanna jump, not for the life of me.

We've all hit our expiration dates
Johnson dangling, entangled in a wire
he's 68, he was about to retire
a burnt child dreads the fire
and he's a lump of charcoal.

Up many storeys
the planes hit precisely.
News helicopters flying and taping
there's no escaping,
the fire's approaching.

I need to jump,
no slow death here.
Here we go,
Geronimo!

Fire caught me in my fall
God's doing his roll call
pain in my legs as the ground comes closer
I move quick, I cannot breathe, my lungs are squished
Did I tell my kids I love them?
No, but I wish.
Smile.
even when it doesn't quite reach your eyes or touch the surface of your soul; smile.
Because a little brokenness goes a long way and somewhere in the depths of my broken soul I hope one day a smile saves me.
Even if he doesn't mean it- maybe it will be the stepping stone to us falling in love or the motivation not to put my right foot in front of my left and fall into the depths of those train tracks.
Smile because even if you're not saving yourself maybe you'll save someone else and perhaps that will be enough.
Perhaps in this world where everything is turning a little too fast and I keep getting whiplash as I try differentiate between what was and what is and which deadline I should meet next maybe I'll smile.

I'll smile because the sun is still shinning and the leaves kiss each other with an intimacy I cant help but envy and maybe I'll smile.
And maybe one day my smile might just reach my eyes again and maybe one day I'll be as happy as I pretend to be and one day it will all be enough.

So today I'll smile.
you are beautiful.
you are tragically beautiful.
you are notre dame
at night.
you are the eiffel tower
amidst bombshells.
you are the house of commons
and the house of lords.
you are the lone beam
standing after Katrina.
you are the one baby sea turtle
who makes it off the beach.
you are the dark side of the moon.
you are the patch of sand
struck by lightning.
you are the remains discovered
after the plane goes down.
you're a smooth puddle in a parking lot.
you are the creaky stair
that warns of intruders.
you are all of the red skittles.
you are Job 3:14.
It is the dark place at the end of the road we travel
And that darkness scares us, but it also beckons.
Seductively it calls with lies of an end to pain,
"Show them what they have done." the darkness whispers then demands.
"Show them."

We all have heard, some have believed.
People with everything who could not see their worth.
People with options who could not find hope.
People who could only feel pain in the arms of love.

They dive recklessly into the cold dark water and are lost
To us, but not to all
For there is light beyond the darkness that beckons too
And the journey home is longer but no less sure
For all of them.  For all of us.
Peace, Robin, fly true.
Safe journey to a gentle soul.
Again the day had come
When I had concentrated on those coins,
That was all for mine but lost
And the cyclone rolled those dust with gust

Earn after born at my mother’s shack,
Penny to penny kept into my empty soul
Sounding low when filled with sorrow,
Blew all those through unknown hollow

The day had gone forever
And I am the Loser, lost more than I loss
Collect other coins that less than I lost
And the Lord will be paid the ultimate cost -

sleepless nights
and countless attempts
of flirting with death.
fear and loneliness
until the last breath.
I come to you -
Rivers come to ocean
As monsoon comes to summer

I come to you -
Roses come to lips
As ants come to sweets

I come to you -
Waves come to shore
As truth comes to me

You went too there -
I wait for you here -
Forever and ever ----

Simple love poem
words are making a dark sound,
last three days I moved a few spells
spaces have lost in the expanding universe,
where we are jingling on hopes
who is playing mystical sounds?
my hours are passing on toiling,
sun goes down slowly
evening star moves toward black hole,
shadow flees over the horizon
I can see afar off —
though the heavens teem with stars,
an uncounted host of them
and though the moon,
she who rules the night,
reflects her rays of borrowed light
yet the darkness is not wounded,
the aggression of the night continues —

@ Musfiq us shaleheen
Time plays a shadow role, hopes are away form me ..
dark flees all around and continues aggression..

— The End —
