Star Gazer
Her body,
The canvas of each poem she couldn't write.
Each cut of a blade,
Each edge of a razor,
Each ink of a bleeding pen,
Each pierce of a broken page
Spells out all her unread poems titled-
'Maybe this is better...'

I don't fall down
I get up everyday
With my eyes red
Filled with dreams night and day!
I walk upon my path
The one I've chosen to go
Not listening to the society
Going where I go
Before someone stops me
On this journey called life
I sleep upon my bed
Eyes shut feeling low....
Do more think less!

It started with once a week.
"Just to calm my nerves"
Then twice a week.
"Not a big deal."
Thrice
"I'm fine"
Everyday.
Twice a day
"I'll be ok," you say "I only light up once in a while"
Since when dose  five times a day equal to once in a while?
"Im not like them" you say
But you are
Running,
Hiding,
Pushing it all away,
Just like them.
Then you stoped hiding behind the smoke.
You act happy
You pretend you're better
Fooling some, fooling yourself, but to me your crystal clear.
You're far from better
You stopped smoking.
But what of those marks?
Like rivers up your arm.
Paranoid you've become
"More" is your only care
You'll never catch the dragon
You're falling
Drowning
Dying
Outside showing your inner dread
The hunger is consuming you
Hiding it is no longer an option
Your mother is a mess, whose all alone
Your father, long dead
Friends stopped calling
So please wake up
We need you
I need you
So please
Kick this addiction
Tackle your demons
Now I'm starting to drown along side of you
I miss you, I need you
So please
Come home
I won't judge
I just want you whole again
Please...
Try again
Please...
Before we both slip away

Dyan Santiago
seconds, minutes, hours have passed
tick tock tick tock
she stares at the ceiling
blankly, coldly
one blade, two blades, three, four and more
shaking in agony, drowning in the river of melancholy
an unfinished poetry she is, so deep one can hardly understand
cruel fate, cruel world experiencing death before death
her loudest cry was finally heard;
she was found
loveless, helpless, lifeless

I found the love of my life at the bottom of my last regret,
And that's not to say I found him in my brokenness,
But more to say that the broken can still love,
As easily as waves can repeatedly crash,
And a storm can rip through the tide.

You are an angel sent from heaven above
But maybe it's all too good to be true
I don't understand why I'm feeling this love
All I know is that my heart stopped when I sat by you
On your porch looking at the night sky
I finally felt what it was like to fly
Spontaneous of me to show up here
Unexpected but I show no regret
Don't be shy don't disappear
This beautiful moment please don't forget
Wow wow spark boom
Look at the clouds
Look at the moon
Look in my eyes
Do you feel it too?
Why so shy, boy?
Baby just bloom
Your eyes shone in the reflection of the stars
They blink and flicker back to mine
In that remarkable moment I knew
I had never seen brown so beautiful
Until they reflected the color blue

What is love?
Is it caring and sharing
taking and giving
selflessly pardoning?

Is it living and dying
unquestionably trusting
waiting and missing
blissfully existing?

Is it singing and dancing
crying or sighing
hugging or meeting
then painfully departing?

Is it touching and feeling
forgiving and praying
or simply befriending?
Of course it is.

Its depth is unfathomed
of togetherness
across the worlds
listening to unspoken words
while holding hands.

It is a feeling
that emerges from hearts
as God scatters his
heavenly elixir on the planets.
