Light

In the shadows there is talk
Of love leaked in gleams
Of pipes that the whispers sought
In the pale moon’s seams

Behind locked doors she kills
Her doll’s lips cracked raw
Dreams choked with green dollar bills
Chaos beckons, her lonesome law

And yet in front of you she smiles
A smile so tender and warm
You wouldn’t know she lay for miles
A bitter peroxide spike being born

She knew of the world, she knew of people
Savages at their very best
Hiding inside their church’s steeple
Their guns well and truly blessed

She could tell you of the light
And how it cast its illusions
For light, it blinded with a painful bite
And they thought of how it blissed of infusion

She sparked too soon
She burned too bright
And in the end,
She was darkness.

I remember you
Your glazed eyes, your empty smile
Your slumped shoulders, your blank mind

I remember you
A whisper of freckles, a hint of warmth
Beneath those porcelain cold lips

I remember you
Once a roaring flame of a soul
Then merely a splutter of what once was

I remember how you flew
With the wings only you could see
Your arms spread wide
Neither a branch nor twig to collide

I remember the sky that day
A crimson hue of jasper’s tongue
And in that shadowing sight
The darkness overtook your glorious light

I’m sorry I can only remember you
And how you used to sing
But oh how the memory shines!
Shine on, shine on, shine on.

I remember when your favorite thing was love me.
I remember when you couldn't wait to hold me.
I know this life gets crazy,
and I know our love's a little hazy,
but when you're feeling lonely,
you know you can always call me,
and I'll be here waiting in the same spot you left me in saying,
"It's alright if you stay forever with me.
and it's alright if you're waiting for someone to sweep you off your feet
But if you know, if you know
that what we have is real;
then it's alright if you love me tonight.

The bruises on my body could never compare to the pain in my eyes and my heart may never be fixed like I wished it was and this depression may last a lifetime. But, if I lean on my God, maybe a little bit of Jesus' blood could fall through the cracks of my broken heart and make it whole again.

2 am is the hardest
when your mind is racing
your heart is hurting
and
your fingertips are longing
for one more
touch,
grab,
feel,
hold.
so you convince yourself
that your hands are his
and you try to make yourself
feel how he
made you feel
but somehow, you
keep coming up short
It still hurts and the love is still very much real

Believed, I Believed
we believed
Love means true.
Woke up in the morning
my phone started ringing
mind was singing
my hand started pinging
her!
She was right in there..
white and fair
with love and care
but
all these were
just by a mare.
I, we, and all say "Im true to you".
which mean I love you.

I remember the first time I saw the glare of a sunrise on your eyes,
Everything was beautiful, even the cracks of the sidewalk

We stayed up all night digging to lay cement, everything was so perfect,
Little did either of us know that we left space in the cracks for weeds to grow

You shined into me and out from my joints sprouted flowers,
They were lavender and lilac; it was always hard to tell the difference between them because of their color

As time went on, not everything stayed as beautiful as it once was,
My flowers wilted and frowned, and so did I,
Weeds took over and wrapped my body in vines, suffocating me with my own breath,
Not being able to catch a glimpse of what's eating you up inside is like watching a flower get trampled on without being able to do anything about it

A year and a day later and I am lying on the sidewalk by my house with lilacs in my hands, finally realizing the difference between lavender and lilac

A wise oak
 Jul 2016 bs
Thomas
This is a project that I had to do at school, it's not a poem but I just wanted people to read it...

A wise oak lazily wrestles with the wind disregarding its breathy efforts. The tree sits atop a hill looking over a dark golden field, overhead the oak lay the endless universe, while an aurora borealis streaks the earth with an endless luminescent light. The wise oak shimmers with streaks of purple, green, yellow, and red hues as they dance on its leaves. I walk toward the oak blanketed in darkness except for the colours that flow across me. As I walk through the field slowly awed by the living light that has bathed the dull world, I can’t help but touch the soft ripe wheat as it tickles my palm. When I reach the tree it sways softly in the wind, the leaves rustle trying to softly speak silent words of wisdom. I lie down in the cool soft grass and look up at the sky through the leafless patches of the tree, I can see the stars that paint the blackness of the universe and the aurora borealis as it brings the sky to life. I stare for a while and I feel as if I stay long enough the tree will speak to me with great words of wisdom.
I hope you enjoyed it.

The fire
 Jul 2016 bs
Thomas
Do you see the beauty in fire that burns the bodies of those so tragically lost.
They scream as flames lick at their faces,
The reflection of the colours dancing on their glazed lifeless eyes.
The flames change colours as it consumes them,
The smells that arise from the pile is deliciously fresh,
They roast as I await my turn and soon so shall you.
To be burned in the ever stirring light of the fire that fills our day.

The sun
It's a poem
