Sky
the water
rushes and swells
tumbles like chaos
off the ledge
into your palms
chaos, perfected
Your touch is a soothing lullaby,
A sweet song dancing in my ears
With words of honey.

Your words frolic in my head
Whispering your secrets and
Haunting my dreams with their beauty.

The echoes of our nights spent together
Race down the corridor of my mind
Imparting a delicious kiss
Reminiscent of your delicate lips.

Waves crash all around.
A relentless sea intent on drowning me
In the depths of their ecstasy.

In your presence a golden light
Emanates; dispelling the darkness
I carry within me.

You feel the weight of my burden
Yet you hold it in your hands.
Your fingers run over my scars
As I show you the contours of my heart.

The pain I carry is deep,
Yet you hold it like a newborn
With unflinching courage.

I cherish these moments we share
Together, not knowing how long
They will last.

When you feel darkness creeping up on you and demons settling in you should push them away with all your might

Because if you give in they will haunt you all day and night

They will try and scare you any chance they get

When the demon named depression starts whispering in your ear I advise you to ignore every word no matter how taunting

When the demon named anxiety starts telling you stories to doubt every turn you take, anything you say, remind yourself they are just stories

If a demon named DPD starts telling you you're worthless unless someone is with you don't listen and remind yourself that what makes you worth it is you and not others

So no matter what never listen to the demons that may sneak up on you and don't take any steps into darkness because it is hell to try and get out.

It’s the thought of your cigarette smoke.
Which cracks through the gaps in your teeth,
and into the hollows of your lips -
becoming so coarse because they are soft.

Clouds of your grey
pollute my eyes.
And you hide behind it until
it has threaded through my every pore
and into my tongue as I swallow into my gut.
I savour as if it was you that I inhaled.

I drown in that somber ocean
of your lighter in the side pocket of your trench,
and the packet which you dig from out your jeans.

As you breath
smoke flows into my ear - pollutes them
With late nights you spend alone.
A half dry pen on tea stained paperd notebooks
that are buried under paperclips and mangled headphones.
The sound as you force, pelting creased paper into the fire.
and tears which drip out onto your sweater.
and echoes of dying guitar strings
that can no longer bare the abuse you show them these nights
when the words and notes won’t kiss.like you want them to.

As it drips down through my gut
I taste the rasp smell of your cologne in the morning
after the rain wastes it off in the morning.
Along with the taste of salt that you drench every word in.

The smoke evaporates from my view.
I stare at your bones glowing under an orange street light..
Your eyes hollow,
eaten up by the shadows and I wonder
if you are in front of me.

Or if I only recognised the familiar grey clouds
- that once hid my blue sky.

Outside of the library,
On a wet, wet day,
You smiled and said
'I love you'
Before walking away
Towards the platform, where you depart,
And I know that I will always feel this way
About you.

You run your fingers through my hair and with them bring
The cool, fresh air that
I have longed for, all throughout the
Winter.

The green flecks and
The blue hues of your eyes
Connect you to this current season:
Springtime.
Through your warmth and light,
You have given me
New life.

I have been told that said eyes are the window to the soul, so
When we kiss we must never keep our eyes closed;
An exchange of hearts for an exchange of souls that will continue, and
Never grow old.

let's be real my darling;
your life is not worth anything
in the eyes of a selfish man.
the bright fire of love
is easily diminished in time;
and, if we're honest,
for a selfish man,
love is not an entity
that is anything more
than a passing feeling,
a word to say
in sheets of silk and satin caresses
that secure your devotion
your worship
and your skills at cooking eggs
while he takes a long shower,
washing off your love
pampering himself for the next girl's
carbon copy body.
so easily forgotten,
stolen kisses are lauded
in coffee shops and movie theatres
but stolen is still pain
when the romance has been washed down the drain.

drifting,
    drifting
in the sea
of thoughts between you and me.

anchored,
     anchored
by the harshness of reality.

still accepting,
      and yet, unyielding
letting thoughts always roam free
