Half moon
Looking forward
Let's get-together
...
Her name was Molly
She was the eldest in a family of 6 ,
Her dad was an alcoholic and gambler
Her mom sold milk to make a living
She had 2 brothers who were too lazy to work or study
So, all the weight and expectations fell upon her
But she never complained, kept working diligently
She was a silent worker who never asked  for sympathy
She was a role model to her youngest sister
She was quite smart and intelligent,
Beautiful and brave,
She was unabashed and was down to earth
She completed her degree in nursing
Despite financial struggles, lack of support and misogyny
And became a successful nurse
She served people for 28 years without any protest
She taught me to be myself, and the virtue of patience
I consider myself blessed to be her son
I look up to her to this day...
She has sacrificed so much in her life
All she asked ever in return was to break stereotypes
And do things which no one will expect from you
Thank you ,mom for everything..
This is my ode to my mother...i tell her everyday how much i love her and i dont need a specific day to remind me of that..but writing is my passion and what better than show some love through it..Hope you folks like it
I looked beyond your
eyes to see you,
the real you hidden
behind that face,
for your eyes are
the windows of your essence,
doors to your soul,
showing the brightness within
or the darkness of your heart.
I can see your hurts,
feel your pain
and darkness within.
I know from the lines on your face,
the rigours life has left there.
I listen to what you are saying,
but I listened more to
what you are not saying.
I watched you smile
and I see the pain you are hiding,
and the height of your joy.
How can I make you feel better,
to remove that mask you put on.
Is it not by sharing generously
that which my heart with love can give.
I would like to bring the balm of Gilead
to heal this brokenness within you.
You need the touch of heaven
to surround you.
So much love is available always
to sustain you.
Hold on to this with your heart,
for the beauty of heaven within
must shine forth to comfort you.

In your prime
The world is at your feet
On the downfall
It's you on your feet
Or none at all

So , be there for yourself
Be it prime or downfall
Just something I strongly feel , and so shared here !
in a huff night left,
how darkness still lurks around?
monsoon slyly lies!
clatter in attic,
cloud army rehearses war dance;
cleans dusty armour!
on the sky expanses,
robust clouds display yoga;
then all become one!
The space I have
needs someone to fill up
and found none so far.

I cursed the man for invading
into the May notes of casuarinas
on a space all my own
before the sun was alluringly soft
on the tender hearts by the sea
finding love in whispered notes
sheltered by the swaying trees.

Found many and none
and their vacuous echoes
question where I failed
or was there precious silence
speaking it wasn't a void
that I ravaged into sands
of futile recollections and laments.

The mercury was falling
over the man as I left him
and soon the creed of hope
would break in like evernew waves
around a vacuum of empty space.
Talsari beach, May 13, 2018
daunting nonstop rains,
such mayhem landslides and pains;
rain: boon if not bane!
soaked in rainsong I,
feel it’s my mom’s cradle song;
I feel secure and  warm
