A simple gesture
Touched my heart
Now I wonder
If being apart
Means I'm not for you
And you are not for me

But I hope and I pray
One day
You'll be by my side
Through high and low tides
To love undyingly.
Please don't be married yet.
...
You have died so many deaths.

So much
You've been cremated all over my body,
Especially on my lips.

Matter of fact,
You're buried in my heart.
For him who left his mark and is still dearly cared for after all attempts of hate.

Her smile is so warm
I want to hold her hand
But she would cringe

the words are water
and they flow,
and they flow,
and they flow,
and they also             get clogged.

the days where
imagination swirls in your head
and there's a nonstop thrum of a drum resting inside
because your mouth is shut,
unable to puke it out,
and the days where
your hands are dry,
pens inkless;

the days where you feel dead,
the days where you
read the title again once you've reached the end.

Behind store front glass is where he resides,
as millions of people come strolling on by.
The man is affixed, cannot wave his goodbyes,
and he lusts for a glare through his frothy grey eyes.

His feet, they are bare. His hair stays the same.
Long days, and long nights, he watches in shame.
He dreams of the warm, supple touch of his dame.
As hes fitted again, "This months suit!" they exclaim.

So dapper he looks, and hollow his soul.
He gives them his best, in his suit made of gold.
Still they pass by him swift, never stop to behold,
The Manikin Man, in his glass front abode.

She leaves you a gift,
rough purple ribbon
with a wire rim to keep the shape.
She ties it in your hair,
fingers soft as they brush the curve of your cheek.
She puts a chain around your neck,
delicate and thin,
leaving goosebumps where warmth had been.

knowing that i left you
would you ever take me back?
despite the unfinished memories
and towered building blocks?
if you knew i'd disappear
would you never say those words?
would you cut me off our strings
would you never fall in love?
would you never fall for me?

n.j.
missing you terribly, every single day.
